Pen Modifications / INK DISSOLVING?!?!
does anyones ink dissolve their tubes

Hi, i've been wondering whether other people have been, having this problem, or its just me.
So i had this mx, and the in leaked out inside the barrel(didnt have an insert), and smeared all over the inside of the barrel. I didn't think much fo it at the time, since i thought it looked kinda cool. However, later i was spinning it and dropped the barrel, and the threads holding the back plug on fell clean off
. I salvaged the inktube from that one and put it into another rsvp, still covered in ink. Later, the threads on that one fell off too.
Has anyone had this problem? does it only happen with rsvps? -

yup my friend, BlacknWhite had this problem before. =/
his G3-MX(G3 inktube) leaked when he spin for a few days.
furthermore it leaked in the subway, making a huge mess.. LOL
so not only RSVPs leaks, i think any other pens can also leak. -

i had the same problem..actually, i was trying to do something i don't remember with th ink tube, and the ink started to come out!lol...my barrel looked really bad afterwards...

yeah but has anyones pen like melted off due to the ink?
mine dissolved the threads holding the backplug off -

mine has
i was spinning mine and i got ink on my hands and realized that the ink came out
i then put down the pen realllly gently and it broke
i then looked at the barrel. it had a hole in the middle..... -

If an Ink tube receives trauma to the back of itself it will break the seal and ink will spill.

i think when i was making an mx, after i reversed the ink tube, i pressed the cap with the grip inside against the backplug to push the grip futher and i guess it created air pressure that pushed the ink outta the other side of the tube

Luke I don't think the ink dissolved the tube. You probably dropped a lot so the threads became more fragile and what toastyrage said happened

I don't think that the ink will dissolve a barrel, its just not chemically inclined to. I mean if it could dissolve plastic what do you think it would to to paper

I am pretty sure the people who made the pens made sure they analyzed all the chemistry to make sure the plastic wouldn't dissolve.

THey also made the ink VERY dissolvable when the pen comes into contact with pocket lint. For some reason this is the only time my pens seem to explode.... -

are your threads completly smooth, or does the backcap screw on but can't screw tightly?
If its the latter than you just dropped your pen a few times too many... -

Profile, Signo and RSVP inktubes all explode ink out the tip for me

i have a big ink spot on one pair of jeans but thats coz i left an inktube in my pocket
