The vietnam flag in the forums right now is a red flag with a yellow star, which was used by the communists that ook over vietnam. Vietnam uses a yellow flag with 3 horizontal red stripes now.. Can you change it please, its kinda offensive to me.

Yea even though I dont live there, I think the non-communist flag should be used. The original 3 stripes is much nicer. Its why I wear adidas

Hmm... apparently, that is still the official flag of Vietnam.

Uh lol, what does that matter? It's still the official flag. I could go saying "I don't support the capitalists", and stop accepting USAs flag.

Situation:
You dont believe in communism.
Lets say Sweden went communist and got a new flag, blue with a yellow hammer and sickle logo. Would you like to show off to others that your country is communist? I doubt it.
And America isnt the only capitalist country!! -

yea..but vietnam isn't the only communist country either..
but if people from vietnam wants it changed, then change it..
i don't think it makes that much difference to us....
you should ask the other vietnamese psers about it and ask for their opinion -

Take Russia, its communist, but you dont see the communist flag.
It matters to us because many, many, many of us do not believe in how the communists are running Vietnam. Its called a pride for our heritage. And the Heritage flag of Vietnam is still widely used today. You'd get shunned on upon in the Vietnamese community if you have the new communist flag. I know for a fact that many people in Vietnam do not support the government, they want to come here just to escape it.
Pholord and TLDScorp are Vietnamese, and if anyone else wants to change it or leave it as it should post here. This is why we have topics. -

how about we just make a 2 different types of flags for vietnam??

But USA is the most capitalist country in the world, afaik.
Russia is not even a communist country anymore, so no wonder they don't have a "communist flag". China is communist only at the name, they're all capitalistic really, but have a communist flag. White Russia and Cuba are the only communist countries I know of (except for noth korea, but well.. let's not talk about them), and I don't really know what their flags look like...
But, it is still the official Vietnam flag, no matter what the people on this forum, or the inhabitants of Vietnam think. It's not up to us to change that. -

let's not turn this into a political debate.
the flag is added. If yo uwant the communist version select Vietnam (Communist) as your coutnry, otherwise its the Heritage flag.
