Here it is :D

Hai everyone! Welcome to the G.J.H. Tutorial!

I know a lot of you have been wanting to know how to make a G.J.H., so here you have it! First of all, G.J.H. Stands for G-3, Jedo, Hybrid. The original mod was created by Mr. LSC, so credits to him for creating this mod. Credits also go to Manoik for posting the pics originally on UCPSB cuz i dont have a good g-3 right now for my own pics. I am making a tutorial of how i am 99.9% sure how it's made. ok, so let us begin.

    Stats:

    COG is pretty much COP

    Length: 18 cm

    Weight: 16g

    Price: around 10USD

    -------------------------------------------------------

    What You'll Need:

    Pilot G-3 http://penwish.com/product_info.php?products_id=673

Jedo (you can also use pentel sharp and staples metrix) http://penwish.com/product_info.php?products_id=658

    HGG http://penwish.com/product_info.php?products_id=398

    Insert (optional)

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Step 1.

On your G-3: Screw off tip, take out inktube and back plug, and cut grip and remove

    Step 2.

Put grip and tip in cap

    Step 3.

cut off top part of g-3 and file off nubs

    Step 4.

    Put jedo through G-3

    Step 5.

use a hot glue gun to glue tips to g-3 (i used tape for easier mp repairing)

    Step 6.

place HGG over top G-3 Section

    step 7.

wrap tabe around the back of the g3, place cap on back and your done! smile.gif Enjoy spinning your new mod!

  2. K4S
    Date: Sun, May 25 2008 06:42:36

You should probably explain the back section a little better (or put pictures), but this seems a lot easier than the original tutorial on UCPSB that involved cutting the jedo metal tip. Nice work :>

  3. ZackVII
    Date: Sun, May 25 2008 06:44:42

umm wut kind of tape did you use to put the tip on. did you use like teflon?

  4. Thnikk
    Date: Sun, May 25 2008 06:51:14

i cut a part of electrical tape to thicken tip area and then used regular old crappy scotch tape to connect the tips to the barrel (hope that helped ^-^") and thx K4S, compliment from you means alot. too late to take pics, i'll do it tomorrow =.=

The first person I've seen to follow the correct method; on their own.
Note that I said first that I've seen, so don't anyone go on bashing me now saying that they've done it first.

However, I wish the pen was more uniform. I don't like how there is a bulge in HGG grip.

wtf.gif copying pictures from PDS and posting them doesn't exactly mean that you've made the tutorial. if your going to copy the pic from PDS, at least give them fucking credit for it. oh and btw, you FAILED because you didn't read the part 2 of the tutorial.

  11. Gunblakes
    Date: Sun, May 25 2008 14:14:29

The original method involved the cutting of tips + hot glue gun. I didn't feel like making a tut on a MUCH easier variation, but since a kinda useless tut is posted here, I might as well contribute my variation here. Take a short length of a G2 Refill, file the insides of the G3 barrel (tip-side) with sandpaper/needle file until the G2 refill fits in. Screw the Jedo tip onto the G2 Refill, voila done. It makes the tube even more stable, and the lead is less prone to breaking. Secure the tip with scotch tape. Much simpler then using a hot glue gun. I don't see how making a tut and calling it your "own tut" while not even using your own pictures is right. Btw its not Mr. ILC, its LSC. mellow.gif

Hi nolan, take a look at the color of the G3 grips in the tut and the final product. No link? The pics are 100% copied, the tutorial is quite obvious to figure out using common sense. Thats the only credit Thnikk gets.

This is how i made the mod awhile back off of UCPSB, its not bad at all, but i'll need to pick up an official pendolsa G.J.H. and reverse engineer it. NO copyright on that one

  18. k2thez
    Date: Sun, May 25 2008 17:41:50

Are you sure it's 18.5 cm? That's how long an MX is, and I compared my G.J.H. with an MX and the G.J.H. was shorter by at least 1 centimeter.

  27. Outlander
    Date: Tue, May 27 2008 07:27:49

I prefer to use crazy glue for attaching the jedo tip to the front of the G3. Hot glue can get messy and make a bump under the HGG grip (like all the ones PDS is selling....). After using the crazy glue, I sand it down to get it uniform with the rest of the G3 part where the grip goes.

It is balanced... the weight of the mechanical pencil part is heavier at the front so it adds aditional weight to the front, thus making it balanced

  33. Thnikk
    Date: Sun, Jun 8 2008 15:51:19

if you want, you can add a third tip to the front

I don't quite understand the part with the tip; do you glue another tip on the tipside? Or am I mistaken?

  37. iamk34n3
    Date: Sat, Jun 14 2008 04:36:24

You cut the G3, then put the jedo mechanism with inside the G3. You then hotglue the tip onto the body and put a HGG tip on top of that.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up
But in the picture with the completed GJH, there isn't the little extension of the jedo tip where the lead comes out
Does his second HGG tip cover that up?

  39. someone
    Date: Sun, Jun 15 2008 02:04:19

The tip goes over the pointy part so it doesn't poke you while spinning

  40. Thnikk
    Date: Sun, Jun 15 2008 02:57:56

you can leave the tip out a bit if you want more stability when writing but i prefer that it is not for spinning

  41. falseparadox
    Date: Sun, Jun 15 2008 03:24:58

I guess I'll leave the tip out a bit for writing
Looks like this would be good for school, but how is the lead survival rate through drops?

BTW does anyone know where I can get a metal-tipped G3? Anywhere but PDS! sad.gif
EDIT: Used PDS as a generality for "online store"....plus I heard its not very reliable

@ doctor spin- im not quite sure what you are asking. and okly, I would reccoment not gluing the tip, actually. teflon tape woks better for the tips but you should glue the mech to the g-3 for sure.

wrap tape around the part of the body that holds onto the cap or put a grip in between the two.

  53. Aries
    Date: Sat, Sep 20 2008 20:43:10

I could just use teflon instead of hot glue when putting on the HGG tip right? It won't affect the balance? And, can I replace the G3 grip with and HGG grip or RSVP grip, or will it not hold or fit the mech or is it too loose?

  54. iamk34n3
    Date: Sat, Sep 20 2008 21:44:28

Yeah I'm pretty sure teflon won't affect it that much. The cap is held on by the tape on the g3 barrel so whatever grip you use in the cap is fine.

    Date: Wed, Nov 12 2008 08:47:19

I've heard that 13 cm of scotch tape wrapped around the back side of the G3 barrel is perfect, and if you cut it length-wise to just the perfect height, then the G3 cap will cover the tape perfectly. Just what I've heard though, you might want to try it yourself.
