Retractable RSVPL is retractable mod that looks (and spins) the same as regular MX. That was actually the main goal for me. There are many other writable mods of RSVP but I looked for pretty long time and couldn't find any, that has the appeal of original MX being at the same time durable and nice to write with. Modification itself is simple, Uni Laknock (SN-101 fine) mechanism fix most of the problem plus Retractable RSVP back part and cap do the rest. The hardest part was to think up the name – thanks to DarkArcher for help.
Big advantage is that if done precisely RSVPL is almost completely silent while spinning. It's thanks to the grip over clicking mechanism, you just add some tape under to keep the cap stable. Unfortunately this tape makes it a bit harder to click the pen but that's the price of having silent retractable mod.
Things that could be better: Hgg tip mounting – because you need to cut the RSVP barrel a little, there is fewer place that tip was normally screwed onto; changing the refill – there isn't other place to put the spring therefore you'll have to take off all the back part to change the ink; insert – it's shorter due to the retractable mechanism that takes some place.
One last thing, sorry for any language mistakes, I hope they don't cause big problems with understanding.

    Mod Facts:

    Name: Retractable RSVPL
    Length: 18.6 cm
    Weight: 14 g
COG: 4-5 mm to the back from COP

    Parts Needed:

    1. Hgg tip
    2. RSVP barrel
    3. Back part from Retractable RSVP (you'll need to cut the barrel to get it out)
    4. G2 spring
    5. Ink tube (RSVP's ink tube is not recommended, it needs to be thin enough to go through Hgg tip; Pentel BK-77 ink tube on the picture)
    6. Hgg grip
    7. Laknock spring
    8. Retractable RSVP grip
    9. Retractable RSVP cap
    10. Laknock clicker part (to take it out easy, first break the clip and then push the small “button”)

    1. Cut off part of RSVP barrel but only to the place that block ink tube (it has to go through smoothly).

    2. Cut €œteeth€ from Retractable RSVP back part, attach spring from G2 and put together with Lacknock mechanism; it should fit perfectly.

    3. Measure the ink tube, like shown on the picture, and make wings to keep spring in the right place.

    4. Laknock clicker part has a plastic line that is thicker, it will be used to stop the mechanism from going too far inside RSVP barrel. Sand or file down thread of a screw from the back of RSVP.
Between the lines on pic below is 4.5 cm, measure that (cut plastic line on Laknock part if it's too long), put mechanism part inside RSVP barrel and use some tape to level thickness of the barrel with Laknock clicker part. Cut Retractable RSVP grip to about 1.7 cm and put on the mechanism part and RSVP barrel connection.

    5. Screw Hgg tip and put Hgg grip like in normal MX. Get rid of the clip. Slide the insert into if you wish (don't forget to leave enough place for clicker mechanism) put ink tube with spring inside, mount the Laknock part and Retractable RSVP cap.

Insert used - "emo sucks" by Patrick.

    Finished Product:

    Enjoy

Pretty nice mod. I dont have laknock pens to try this out so i'll just ask, how does the clicker mechanism stay attached to the rsvp body?...with tape?

Cap is held the same as in Retr. RSVP so it's sturdy. Clicking - it depends, if you use more tape there will be more presure on the cap so it'll be harder to click but cap will be more stable; if you use less tape it'll be opposite plus some sound of shaking cap.

Clicker mechanism is just put inside, it fits perfectly (there is no problem with poping out). One thing you should be careful with is that Laknock part on the end is thinner, so you can break the barrel of RSVP if pushing too hard.

    Thanks for comments.

    Really nice mod! =)

Seems like the retractable mechanism is held to the RSVP barrel by friction only? Sounds kinda risky in the long run. Manufactured retractable pens usually have the mechanism secured by a screw system. The problem of not finding a suitable securing system has been a fundamental problem for retractable mods time and again.

If you can find a way around this, I think your mod would really work out well.

the only question is if the mech would stay on the rsvp body because it seems as if the grip holding them together wont be good enough.

but i havn't made it yet so idk lol
but anyways, if it does work well and can hold up
then super great mod. was really cleaver.

Yea, it's kind of the same deal with Skahars' MX.
