1)Gather your materials as shown in the picture. Again, the grips and tips in the corner are optional.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c1.jpg

2)Gut your Crayola Markers by taking out the backcaps, removing the felt tips and removing the ink cartrages on each.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c2.jpg

3)Put one of the backcaps back into an empty pen barrel and line up the second one as shown in the picture. Cut the pen tip where marked in the picture aswell. This does not need to be extremely precise, but it should be a clean cut.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c3.jpg

4)This is what you should now have. Discard the barrel with the removed tip and take the back cap out of the unchanged one.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c4.jpg

5)Bore a hole into that backcap, enough for the normal inktube to fit into snuggly.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c5.jpg

6)This is how the inktubes are inserted into the backcap with the hole.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c6.jpg

7)Fit the inktubes together and trim them until the cut pen tip can slide onto them and reach all the way to the back cap.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c7.jpg

8)Now tightly wrap tape around the cut pen tip and the back cap. This is to hold them together. do not use alot of tape but make sure that it covers almost all of the back cap and is put on tightly and uniformly.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c8.jpg

9)Push on one of the Crayola Marker's caps. This may require a bit of gentle hammering.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c9.jpg

10)Cut the very tip off of the undamaged pen. Then cut a small section off of the Bic inktube as shown in the picture. then slide and push in the inktube.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c10.jpg

11)Push in some tissue paper so that the inktube does not rattle.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c11.jpg

12)Snap in the backcap/cap as shown in the picture and wrap a small amount of tape around the base of the pen tip. use the picture for help.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c12.jpg

13)snap on the other cap. it should go all the way on, snap when put on, easily come off and not rattle. You may also choose to rub off the writing with computer paper.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c13.jpg

14)(optional) Insert the tips as far as they will go into the caps.
    http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/jj256/Guitrum/c14.jpg

15)(optional) Apply the gripping arrangement of your choice and you have just made a Marker Mod!!!

    [Spinability Video]:

    ~

    Q/A:

Why would you make the mod double capped, yet have it write out of only one side?

To keep the assembly simple, and to keep the mod balanced. It is possible and I could do it, but it would take wieghts, a drill, another inktube... and thats too much for a simple mod like this.

    How well does it spin?

This is determined on whether or not you have tips and grips on it. With both tips and grips, it has a very nice ammount of momentum. Without them, it feels a bit heavier than a comssa.

    Why is it so long?

I decided to make it long because those mods best suit me. I modeled it after that Grip Aviaire (my favorite mod) so the length is quite near it (a bit longer) and only half the tips can be seen.

    How customizeable is it?

The caps can be any color that crayola makes. Sadly though, I am only aware of white bodies. Grips can be whatever you choose to be so that adds alot to the cusotmizability of this mod.

Aren't you supposed to stop making "shit mods" now?

Yes. And I have stopped. But i find this to be one of my more successful mods because of the way it spins so im taking the risk of putting out a tutorial for it.

Where can I buy the materials?

All of the materials are available in the US. I am not sure about other countries (sorry) but this is a very US friendly mod.

Looks nice; I like how there's a smooth transition from the caps to the body. The grips on there look bad imo; what are they?

This is the first, imo, good mod i've seen you make. I especially like the pink and orange one, the Dr. Grips look good on it. Also, did you erase the text off the barrels?

    o: cool mod!
Does this mean you can do the same thing with the thicker crayola markers (instead of the fine point one) to make a thicker body? (for those who don't like thin bodies)
...except it won't be writable with the bic inktube right? :[

acctually, no. a supertip is far from being similar to the ones used in the mod.

rub white computer paper on the body until the friction causes the writing to dissapear

rsvp sized ones and then any thicker inktube that fits over them tightly enough ie: signo/hgg etc.

It looks alright. I'd add like an outsert to throw in a little pizzaz happy.gif I'd be more impressed if it was double ended though instead of just being double capped, but still, great job!

for the 'normal' ink tube, would a bic stic tube work as well? and what is the easiest way to get the back caps off without damaging them? lastly, with the printer paper, you just rub the marker? I tried, but nothing came off. Maybe I didn't do it hard/long enough? Thanks in advance.
