    Atlant-X

    Welcome to my first tutorial,
I would like to present you the Atlant-X, a retractable Mod which is similar to Zaazu's Any-X. Thanks at this point for the inspiration.

    You need:
    2 BIC Atlantis Bodies
    1 BIC Atlantis Spring
    1 RSVP Refill
    1 HGG Tip
    1 Toothpick
    1 Profile/Anyball Clicker
    8 Rings of Anyball/Profile Grips
    Plastic-Glue
    Drill (3mm)

    Difficulty: hard-very hard
    Time Needed: Much

    Step 1

Disassemble the Atlantis and roll up their grips...

(This can be quite hard to do, since they are glued on well.)

... and cut them at the marked area.

    Step 2

Cut the Profile/Anyball clicker at the marked areas.

Use the clicker to connect the Atlantis bodies. I used some glue to make them stick together firmly.

    Step 3

A restriction on the backpart of the Atlantis prevents the clicker from coming out. Sand it down and take out the clicker.

    Step 4

Cut the clicker from Step 3 at the marked area...

... and sand it on one side.

Use a 3mm Drill (.12") on it, so you can push the RSVP refill trough it.

    Step 5

Remove the clip of the backpart and sand the outside-part down to 0.5cm (.2").
The clicker from Step 4 is plugged into the opening and the HGG Tip is srewed on:

    Step 6

Squeeze the RSVP refill at a distance of 3.4cm (1.34") to the tip, so it blocks the spring.

Stick a piece of the toothpick into the back of the refill so it extends it by 1.6cm (.63")

    Step 7

Bend the spring slightly to minimize noise while spinning.
Put the spring and the refill into the Body and screw on the second Atlantis backpart.
Put on 4 rings of Anyball/Profile grips per side.
Remove the clip if you like.

    Final Product

    Lenght: 19cm
    Weight: ComSsa < Atlant-X < Metallic ComSsa
    Wheight Distribution: ca. 40%-20%-40%
    Stability: stable
    Noise: quite-noiseless

It spins quite different compared to Zaazu's Any-X.

Another cool looking mod, good job! And not to rain on your parade though but wasn't Auau the first person to make this?

I dont know, but its quite possible since its so obvious to mod this pen like this.

However, i came up with this idea because my Any-X is starting to crack, but i dont have Profiles anymore.

I havent been spinning it enough to give you an honest answer, but theoretically it should last longer since the connection piece is longer than the Any-X's

-updated picture (grips added, clip removed)
    -edited the wheight

Woot, my Any-Xes are still all great...

The good thing with this pen is that Atlantis pens are practically all over the place. And I mean it. I can't get my hands on an infinite number of Anyballs, but with Antlantis it's no problem.

My Wal-mart has tonnes in stock. And i will assume since walmart carries it that Staples probably carries it too.

In step 4 can you specify how many cm the cut part should be?, In step 5 can you specify which part needs to be sanded (the cut side, or the non-cut side), and also describe when you know your done sanding (until flat, until the hole on the non cut side widens )?
    Thanks happy.gif

    Step 4:

Its not that important to make it exact, but mine is around 1.2cm long

I sanded the cut site, but again it doesnt matter. I suggest to do it that way though because mostly the cuts are not 100% clean.

Just reduce the diameter as much as is needed to fit it into the opening. It's alot of testing and adjusting, this step is probably the one that took me the longest.

    Step 5:

    Heres the original backpart:

The diameter has to be equal (or maybe slightly larger) than the HGG Tip's diameter.

Refer to the image, it is in response to your first answer... hope this is clear! Thanks again.

Serious? Well I didnt take it out and look at it, because mine is glued on, but i could have sworn it must have been longer than 1cm.

I guess I used the whole backpart then and my picture is wrong. The longer it is, the more stable it should be.

OK I may have been confusing before, if your saying your back piece was 1.2cm then it would come to about the yellow line from the orange line, whatI was saying is that the red line you made is around 1.2cm away from the blue line, so i thought when you said 1.2cm that you were using the blue line as a benchmark, and that I should cut 1.2 cm away from that line, from the blue line to the pink line is 1cm, and from the pink line to the orange line is 0.9cm,(the length of the back part), from the red line to the orange line is 0.7cm.
