Presentation / magic with pens

    People love magic. It makes there mind soar. So if penspinning is awesome looking, and magic is amazing, what reaction would you get if they were combined? Anyone have some good idea's?

    I really like it when people do magic/spinning together. DeFlare, a swedish spinner and magician does alot of magic routines with his pen while he's spinning. Always amazing to see.

    To be able to do this, I think you need some magic base to start from, and alot of creativity. The thing that makes it hard is that magic usually is based on misdirection. When you spin, people always watch the pen/hand which makes it hard to misdirect the audience.

    I used my UCPSB bic v1 as a magic wand once. Did like a small combo and went "presto!"

    I think you could infinity the pen into your shirt sleeve or something, but it would be too easy to follow. Maybe if you had too pens exactly the same and you were able to sort of fling one into some far off place and then when the person watching follows that pen you quickly slip the other one out of your sleeve it would be neat.

    The only "magic" tricks are i-sonics and there are a few different methods i think. However, bonkura's second solo i-sonic is as good as it gets right now and i have no idea how he does it dry.gif

    I think magic and penspinning in one combo looks great. I always impressed when see some magic tricks in combo. But it's hard to create magic tricks if u are no magician. I really want to know some magic tricks, especially bonkura's i-sonic.

    it would be cool IF pen magic was an entire different branch of magic in itself, and the spinning we are doing is the 'flourish' part. we could make cash from entertaining others.

    whatever lol. little comment to this: i think its better if you think about magic tricks by urself. If you discuss a new magic trick here and then use it everybody will know how it works, so theres no effect anymore.

    Bonkura's I-sonics are amazing. It's so hard to see what he is doing. Bonkura is a PS genius.

    Well it makes it easy as long as the pen isnt doing the actual magic... penspinning is really good misdirection as its done with one hand... If you can do an aerial trick thats even better as you can do w/e you want with your other hand while they watch the "wand" (pen) go up in the air.

    Yeah, penspinning is good misdirection if you're doing something magic with your other hand. But if you want to do something magical with the pen it's not that good. Unless you're doing 2p2h or something.

    well, you could act as though you were showing them some trick, but suddenly do some magic.

    example of patter could be:

    "hey checking out this move! you see how the pen moves? yeah cool huh? but hey... wait.."

    *pen disappears*

    "what the? it's GONE? OMFG??! but it's ok.. because if you need it back all you need to do is wave..."

    *wave, pen reappears*

    "like so."

    then just give some goofy grin and run off.
    now THAT would be fun. laugh.gif

    Anyway, that combo for the Euro collab was fucking amazing, with all the vanishes and shit.

    I think it's a pretty good magic trick he does. Very easy to "know" where the pen is, but much harder to figure out how it can be there.

    That first combo in the euro collab is new to me...very creative! Heh, i wonder what a professional magician could come up with for magic with a pen in relation to penspinning

    It's really shitty, but you can watch it for ideas. A very bad attempt at Color changing pens at 0:18.

    I think during Bonkura's 2nd solo, I noticed he kinda "pushed" his hands backward. So that's why he was able to perform the iSonic.


    but the "recent" videos he made, the iSonics were performed so fast! tongue.gif ph34r.gif

    hey, i know a magic trick, its called halo, it can be done with pens for sure, just practice it and its BOMB! and another thing, dont be one of those people who watch the tutorial then go out and show it to their friends without practicing. that really pisses me off, im just sayin. we should organize a halo collab.
