Settings?

Wondering if anyone has one of these and what you've done to adjust the settings for optimum quality. Mine works well but the videos are so blurry that when the pen is spinning, its hard to see where it is, it just leaves a big circular trail. I usually either mount it on my monitor facing down and flip the picture, or i rubber band it to the side post on my desk so that i can get side shots. I havent posted any videos with it yet because they all look terrible.

    Ideas?

Make sure you are recording at 30 fps and turn off the right-light setting so you can control it manually. Also make sure you have enough lighting

Don't use and ever don't install default software to camera. Install only driver and use any program to capture videos. I use Windows Movie Maker, it works well for me.

actually what you should do is to shut off auto focus, right light, and then you can see at the bottom left of the recording screen, change the "image size" to VGA.

    this helped me a lot.

The quickcam Pro 9000 is great, and the orbit is even better. You probably don't need to get the orbit, though.

the orbit is an absolute piece of shit for ps..

you're paying all that extra for the auto tracking, which screws up your camera quality while spinning

You need at least 3 Gigs of ram and a fairly good processor to record in HD with the lifecam, though, so people with slightly older computers probably won't be able to use it.

I know Santa's fine with that since his new computer is win.

The new lifecam is awesome but you need to turn off auto exposure and auto focus for it to look good. it also has a great mic
