Not quite sure if it belongs in this section, but whatever.
Anyway, how do people get effects like this?

Talking about how the pen looks like it's on a colored surface.

    2 words: Adobe Photoshop
all your really doing is using a white piece of paper, then adding a gradient to the white background, then custom fonts with effects..thats honestly it

also the type of paper for the outsert makes a difference too.

the kt has a pictture paper. it has a glossy look which looks more professional

i thought they got the white effect by scanning the pen into the comp (using a scanner lol), then doing gradients in photoshop.

Since this is the pen mod presentation discussion I think this is the right place to ask this.

If a new mod is better looking when it is first presented, will more people be interested in making a mod?

Like for example, when the Cyon was first introduced a while back, the first one I ever saw was the ugly mismatched orange and black one. Now that TEK has posted one with an outsert and everything, more people have become interested in making the mod.

I think it makes a huge difference. A poorly presented pen used in a tutorial doesnt show the mods potential aesthetic appeal. If the pictured pen is ugly than people will simply overlook it as just another sloppy mod. (which there are waaay too many these days) On the other hand if the mod looks very nice than people will be more inclined to make it because it has a cleaner look and is more customizable (color wise)

Thats why people chose to make it. People have gotten the idea that TEK is liek uber haxx0r at creating mods, or making them look sexy. If i made one that was sexy like that, probally nobody would make it.
