They had a show on MTV a while back that showed urban skills from around the world. Anyone remember the name of it? They had a wicked beatboxer on there (I think from Japan) who could do a beat, throat bass and hum a melody at the same time. I can't try to find the video without the name of the show doh.gif

You can injure your throat if you practise bass sounds a lot, or lose your voice for a while if you practise sounds with high pitches. But many good sounds come with lots of practice and of course, lots of pain.

    Beatboxing's a good hobby, really.

I've been doing it for about 2 years now and I started performing for events last year, after I stopped busking on the streets.

It's a good source of quick money and it gets you the girls too. cool.gif

    Interested people can visit Humanbeatbox.com

Or if you'd like a private tutor for that *cough* me *cough* you know where to look for. Hah!

I'll be more than happy to help anyone who might be interested. happy.gif

I was an active beatboxer a couple of years ago. It's really a lot of fun if you do it with the right people.
Now I don't do it that much anymore, but probably would learn all the good beats back in no time if I wanted to. Maybe I will one day, who knows?

  24. Nitemare

ArchAngel, try doing beats where you breathe in. Suck air in, and press your tongue against your teeth to prevent air from getting through. Release your tongue and that should make a noise while your sucking air in.
