    PID: 1.7
Project Description: Developing and evolving the little tricks that people do in videos, maybe add a little more flair to spinning.
Why? Alot of people recently have been doing alot of little mini-magic tricks in vids to make it interesting (just look in the world tourny, ps-728 did one in his finalist video). I think it would be cool to develop this even more.

    Again, something i'm working on.

I came up with something where the pen flies of your hand for few seconds - It uses the "Hummingbird" Technique (Used in Card Magic).
I'm developing a trick (Similar to I-Sonic) called "Stuck" - Gonna be released in my next "New Tricks And(Or) Concepts" Thread biggrin.gif

Le0n's teleport things were not really nice - They were way too obvious.

Something I saw done by Bonkura in his first solo was pretty nice as well (Around 1:00). If that is done with a deck of cards (fanned in the moddle of a combo), it could give a nice effect.

Do you have a vid of the Hummingbird technique? Seems interesting. And if you're talking about the thing that bonkura does with the fan and the disappearing/reappearing pen, I have already figured it out.

Magic tricks can really add appeal to combos and attract... errr penspinning virgins? Just have to make sure that they don't focuz on the trick, just use it to add a wow factor. For example, when ps-728 or Minwoo 'swap' pens by pushing it through their hand.

As for myself, I've been trying to think of concepts involving free floating/moving pens, like with magnets as seen in bonkura's 2nd solo. I just gotta experiment with magnets and stuff like that.

I wouldn't consider magnets as magic but if it's something nice, then i'ts worth it.
Bonkura's fan thing is way too obvious - it's not like I didn't want people to figure that out.
Humming bird is a technique (trick) used in cards. Basically a string (Preferably the same colour as your shirt) is attached to the card (any side) with tape and the other end is stuck to your shirt (using tape), next to your shoulder - So you should be knowing the length. That's what I did with the pen but it's really hard to use it during a combo since the string gets in your way while spinning.

Could you not do something like this (diagram) to allow the rope to be able to twist and move quite a lot without really becoming tangled so much?

    (rubbish) ascii diagram:

    Normal string: ----------------------------------------------------------------
    _ _
    Something like this: ------------------|_|||_|------------------------
    ^
This is two loops through each other.
