Alright, I'm not actually sure if this is in the right place but...
I noticed that in videos in other languages, when tricks are mentioned, they are pronounced in english. Thumbaround, Sonic.
So, were all of the tricks invented by english speaking spinners? Or are there tricks that are named in other languages and we just don't say them.
Just a thought. -

Well I think we just use English as the internaional language, like the rest of the world, and I guess it helps that UPSB was the first board?

Weren't the few first to start using the internet for pen spinning Kam and David Weis? Weren't they the ones who started naming the tricks?

Actually, I believe Hideaki Kondoh was the first person to use naming with tricks. And that was Japanese... I think.

First I learned on French blogs, at verry first the one of the spowash's. And that was some french names. "Tour de pouce", literally "around the thumb", orbit for charge, "infini" for figure 8 "infini" means "inifinity", as the real inifinity was called "infinity". Anyways, the namig convention was just not respected, but maybe it is beacause there wasn't at this time.

Gunman is the Japanese naming for around reverse. A while ago, people in the old UPSB and UCPSB thought it was a neosonic, but it's not. To avoid confusion, just don't say gunman at all.
