How creatively can you combo with only four fingers?

    The submission deadline (October 17th) has passed, but so few spinners sent in their videos on time that I obviously need to extend it. Please try to get your video in within the next week or two!!

    Rules: Pick a finger, then make a combo where the pen does not touch that finger (for this collab, the thumb counts as a finger). Thumb or index-less combos for example. (ring-less? middle-less?)

    Selectivity: Everybody is welcome to submit a video. Just please note I plan to keep this collab under 3:30 (definitely under 4:00) in length, so if I get too many submissions, I won't include them all. In that event, I will make decisions based on creativity/aesthetics/frame rate and other qualities.

    That pretty much sums it up. I've been thinking about doing a no-thumbs collab for a while, but I like eriror's idea better; Pick a finger not to use, then combo without it.

    Please post here if you may be interested in participating. All are welcome to participate. Again, the deadline is October 17th (a month from this edit), but that can change if absolutely necessary.

    FAQ:
    Q: Can my combo (do something that might break the rules, but I'm not sure if it does)?
    A: Probably. As long as it basically fits with the overall theme of the video, you should be fine. If you're really worried about something specific, ask. Otherwise just submit something that you feel qualifies as a four-finger combo. @Eriror: If you don't use your left thumb and don't use your right ring in a 1p2h combo, I'll probably accept it (because knowing you, it will be a friggin' sick combo).

    Q: Must I use exactly four fingers? Could I use three? Or less?
    A: Yes, you can use less that four fingers if you really want to.

    Q: Is it too late to submit?
    A: No. I'll tell you when it's too late.

    Why not make a collab where each spinner can only use 4 fingers? I'd love to make another IndexLess Combo once.

    I like that idea, Eriror. It will make participation easier, and the combos will vary more widely. I'll edit my first post and the thread headers accordingly.

    It's looking like this is shaping up nicely, so I'll finalize all the info. Check my first post in the thread for all the updated info.

    It seems to me that if you were to do so, you would be submitting an eight-finger combo, not a four-finger combo. But you would only be using four at a time, so I think it'd work. Just ask yourself: "does what I'm trying to do fit with the spirit and overall theme of the collaborative video I'm participating in?".

    So yeah, just film something and if it's just too far outside the boundaries of what I can reasonably accept, I'll tell you. But your idea sounds pretty reasonable, so go for it.

    Hey, I can't guarantee I'll submit something but I'll try to see if I can come up with something. Might be relatively soon before the deadline though as my MX broke just today, so right now I'm spinning with a double capped RSVP.

    you would have to use 4 fingers both hands combined IMO. 40% of your fingers.

    I don't think 4 fingers on two hands are enough for a decent combo. I don't doubt eriror could pull it off, but I'd rather not impose too much of a handicap on any spinners. This collab should be fun to watch, after all.

    The original thread name was "No thumbs collab". At eriror's suggestion, I decided each participating spinner should pick a finger not to use, instead of forcing them all to exclude their thumb. So if a participant uses two hands, they should pick two fingers not to use. I realize the thread name is a bit misleading, but somehow, "combos where one finger per hand is excluded collab" didn't have a nice ring to it.

    But by all means eriror, don't let me hold you back. If you want to submit a 1p2h combo that only uses 4 fingers, go for it.

    I made a thumbless-one now which im not sooo happy with and im going to make a ring-pinky-less one now i hope im more happier with!

    I have an idea about this video. Editor (i think it would be nathan) must write names of spinners and finger(s) that they don't use. For example, i make ringless combo, so in video editor must wrtie LMnet -3. If spinner don't use T, so Spinners name -T etc.

    What i do instead of Thumb up or Peace at the end of the combo is showing the fingers i used into the camera..

    If you choose not to use your thumb in the combo, you can still give a thumbs up at the end. That doesn't really break the rules.

    Or you could get creative with it.

    If you missed the deadline, no worries. Just submit as soon as possible. Collaborations need participants in order to work. And those participant actually need to participate.
