Any chance of getting the arcade back. It was loads of fun competing with other members of UPSB for the top score on certain games.
As long as Tialys doesn't win them all .
Or maybe at least a direct link to UCPSB arcade to bring the life back to that one (although logging in twice would be annoying, I'm sure that wouldn't be too hard to get around). -

You still need to have 20 posts or something to play the games on UCPSB arcade right? Some of us weren't part of this community back then.
And yes, every forum needs an arcade. -

heh...
probably all ppl will play like crazy for 4-5 days then forget it altogether.... same thing happened last time...
if you look at my random reset contest... i had to stop it cuz nobody was playing anymore... and in the end... the winner refused the prize, and the second place didn't even claim it... -

LOL good times. Instead of declining the UCPSB t-shirt, I should have told Zbo to send it to whoever solved the treasure hunt first. If Zbo still has it and k4s won't claim it, then maybe this is still a possibility for future contests. But I told bojo how to solve the UCPSB hunt since I was getting tired of seeing "riddle 4 is too hard" as his MSN nick for the longest time. Plus, nobody would have figured it out otherwise.
The problem with the treasure hunt is still the same as with the arcade. People will be interested in it for a week or two and then it'll die. Even with a prize, I'm not sure it'd be able to maintain members' interest. -

I'm not saying the Treasure Hunt is an impossibility. It's just frustrating to spend so much time creating a game only to have very few people participate, even after they have signed up. Admittedly, the last one was a bit difficult, so we'd have to think carefully before making any future hunts. Instead, maybe a game involving only riddles/puzzles would be more practical and not too hard. We'll give it a thought and try to make one this summer if enough people are interested. Thx for the sig compliment.

oh BTW,
notice how we have a Arcade section on UPSB that's currently unused.
Nothing stops you from promoting the UCPSB arcade there or organizing events with it.
edit: I've removed the 20 posts requirement. Now anybody with a UCPSB account can play, enjoy. Hope it helps. -

...There is a forum games section that you can run all the games you want in. I'm sure you can think up a way for UPSB members to compete for high scores in a game run on there?

actually, Forum game is a specific type of games that's run on a forum (which relies on PMs, posting in threads, and other forum mechanics)... we have a section for arcade discussion.

I was never on UCPSB so idk how it was.. it sounds cool, but like zombo said i think it'd run out of interest pretty quick. I mean half the games in the games section don't even finish due to inactivity

arcade games are all single-player and short games, its meant for personal enjoyment.

Games section and arcade are different. Arcade was short flash games and when you finished your score would go to a board with all other UPSB members who had played the game. It was more a thing for when you were bored, Desktop Tower Defense got a fair few plays though.
If you want to see what it's like, PM me and I'll gladly let you use my account. -

But if you don't want to make a new account, you can use mine.
I try to accomodate people. Sure, you may (and probably will) say that it's easy to register, but some people just don't want to.
Edit: New account, not knew account. -
