For all you tennis players on the board, i was just wondering who spins their racquets and what you all can do, and maybe give a mini tutorial if you want.
i can do 3 tricks (besides like freestyle flipping and stuff):
I can spin the racquet around in the "triangle" under the racquet face, which is really easy to do. All you do for this is put your finger in the triangle and move your hand around in a circular motion. Its easiest if you have a babolat racquet.

The second trick is a little harder and i think you can compare it to a korean bak, except it goes around your hand instead of your index finger.
    1. For righties, first put the racquet straight up and hold the racquet on the center of the right side of the face with your right hand. (lefties hold left side)
    2. Then sort of jerk your wrist in a counterclockwise motion (lefties go clockwise) so that the racquet begins to travel around the outside part of your hand between your wrist and your knuckes.
    3. Once the racquet has traveled 1/2 or 3/4 revolution, then move your wrist back to the position it was in in the beginning and open up your fingers to catch it. you should catch it in the positiion you "threw" it and it should travel 1 full revolution.

My last trick is the hardest to do, but looks cooler than the other 2. You can only do this one if you have a shock absorber (easiest with a circular one). You basically just balance your racquet on either your middle finger or index finger (whichever one's easier for you) and move your arm in a circle using clockwise motion if you are a righty or counterclockwise if tou are a lefty. This will make your racquet spin around in a circular motion on your fingertip. I think it looks the coolest of these 3 and recquires the most skill and balance in your fingers, which is why i think penspinners would be good at it. This one takes a little while to learn though (It took me about a week to be able to get over 20 revolutions consistently)

    Happy spinning cool.gif

Haha. I just spin the racket while holding the grip in a rotation kind of motion. It's more of a mannerism which I'm sure you know also because it's what most tennis players do. The triangle spin I've also seen some players do. What we do sometimes when we're bored is we balance the racket upright with the butt end on our fingers/hands. I'm also thinking of a upright racket palm spin with the butt on your palm. Haven't tried it though.

lol, when I used to play tennis, I could the first two tricks. Everybody else thought it was really hard to do the first one, and I'm just standing there, spinning it. Second one was pretty easy to learn after watching somebody do it a couple of times. Third one, I have to start with a push from my other hand, otherwise I can do it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention to start the third one with a push from the other hand. It makes it a lot easier.

    oooh
i got another trick to share

    1. hold the racket above the triangle thing where the strings are so
    2. while still holding the racket, stick your middle or index finger in one of the holes in the strings
    3. spin it around your finger vertically (move your hand away from you, then toward you)

    easier with a lighter racket
that was my first trick, then i got a liquidmetal and couldn't do it so fast cause of the weight tongue.gif
