uhh why not? put them in your bag, not in your pockets tho (for the metal detector part).

Bring it on the plane, but don't bring one that you can't write with. People in security get sketchy about stuff like that. Also, if you're spinning on the plane, don't do stuff that causes you to drop it a lot, passengers and crew get sketchy about that stuff too. My dad's a pilot for Air Canada and this one time they had to tell a guy to restrain himself because he was juggling soda cans and dropped one on a female passenger.

It'll be easier if you can remove the 'sharp' parts of the pens first though.

I just put the pens in my carry-on backpack when going through security, then stuck the one I planned on spinning in the plane in my pocket before getting on the plane. I was last using a Hybrid Comssa MX which looked enough like a normal pen.

Yeah, spin a normal looking pen. I just showed them my MXs and they didnt do anything. They didnt even look twice to see that I had 3-4 pens on me.

I'll just use this topic for a question..

Do you think pens can come to harm in your normal bag, the one that goes in the load area of the plane? I fly quite regularly, and I usually have like loads of pens in the backpack I take with me on the plane. One time I had like 25+ Super Pirats and lots of modded pens on top of that, they didn't say anything but it feels kinda weird if you could as well put them in the other bag...

EDIT: and ofcourse you spin pens on the plane ;DD

If you are worried about them, which I don't think you should be, I would suggest buying a bag of some sort that will keep all of the pens together. In your case Sfsr, I would use a small bag that you might carry personal grooming items in. I have 2 small bags that are not much longer than the average pen mod and fits quite a lot of pens. If nothing else, just keep them all together with a clear, plastic, zip-up baggie.

Are you more worried about flashy pen mods being stolen, or just being broken while being tossed about?

    Edit: thread title changed.

Things wrapped in bubble wrap don't break on planes smile.gif

When I was returning from England, I had pens (a lot, and not looking as pens) in my backpack ane they didn't open it and nothing... weird yo.gif

"How does bubble wrap prevent my pen from breaking right in two..?", that's always the thought in my head when packing pens. Also when I mail pens, if the pen somehow ends up with heavy stuff on top of either side, and something hard under the pen in the middle it would break even though you had bubble wrap.

    ...or am I just paranoid?

if your worried about them breaking, stuff them between your clothes.

Well thinking about it now, restricting liquid to prevent liquid bombs seems really stupid as with some pen mods that still write you can stab someone and do some serious damage mellow.gif

Ummm. Actually, a bomb will do more damage than a pen any day.

Nope, and if they do ask. Show 'em how cool we are with those modded pens!

I always have alot of pens in my bag when I'm taking the plane. Never had any trouble with them... But unless you're flying for less than 2 hours I don't think it's of that much use to bring any pens with you. Just take a mp3 player and/or book tongue.gif
