Approved Tutorials / MP MX Tutorial (Mechanical Pencil MX)

    This technique can be used for MMX and NX MMT(the length needs to be extended a bit)
    EXAMPLE




    pros:
    -Looks like a normal mx
    -more weight and momentum
    -cheap and few pens used

    cons:
    -No eraser
    -It is front heavy sad.gif


    Materials:
    HGG
    RSVP
    MSP
    Dr. grip mech (can be sub'ed)

    specs:
    length: Same as a normal mx (18-19 cm)
    Weight: mx^2

    Add ons:
    -Can add an Hgg tip in the cap for better balance
    -Can add extra grips for more balance
    -Can Leave Clip on for school use

    WHOA THX TEK but will this work on black, red, and blue RSVPS? because the backplugs are thick so the caps fit very tight

    and he got those mech pencils at a store near him, and that's the only store you can get them at i think =\

    i was talking about it to some people and someone suggested that
    of corse if you want, you can try to add things in the cap to balance out the front ^^

    pretty much any tube that is the same diameter as the msp mech

    you make everything look so easy. I remember a long time ago, when i was making my first mpfx my failure broke my heart.
    o ya wuts the length and weight? can you adjust the length by not cutting so much on the rsvp barrel??

    i make a mod about 20 times before i make a tutorial tongue.gif
    the length is exactly the same as a mx...i should list that
    and the weight is heavier...about mx^2

    and yep, it all depends on how long you cut the rsvp body part and the msp part.
    if you make the cuts longer, then you can change it to an nx mmt ^^


    you can even do it with an msxa

    i dont remember how i did it
    but i might make a mini tutorial for an msxa later...
    but i think i cut it a little more then just the plug. ive only done it with the black caps..so i might be different with the white ones

    i had a feeling you cut the rsvp "tip". it made a lot more sense. awesome job, this is so simple and innovative, i wish i could make it!
    now i actually have some thing to consider:
    i havent seen the mp in person, but if you used a signo tip in the front, you might be able to do mx^2 style grips in the back. just a thought. maybe it would end up being way front heavy but idk. also, the signo tip is longer than hgg so you may be able to do mx^2 rings in the front too. then again, hgg tips look way better. maybe someone will try it and we can see...
    oh yes and btw, what songs are in the second video? i kinda liked them. tongue.gif

    Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but according to the shop owner, the MSP's are imported from Singapore, so whoever lives there might want to check them out.

    btw... in case you don't have hgg's, the sub for the hgg back plug can be the msp eraser cap
    however, then you can't add a grip in, so yeah...

    Hilltop Gifts shouldn't run out anytime soon.

    There are very few spinners in our area, and the store still has 15+ left.

    But yeah, go ahead and make the G2 mechanical pencil version, it's much cheaper to make.

    it could be that ur internet provider doesn't let you to watch american youtube or something like that....
    it doesn't let chau tran watch any of my vidoes.

    but if u can see the actual videos in the first post...but it just doesn't play.
    double click on the video and a main youtube window will come up. try to watch it there.
    or just go to my page and find the videos. sometimes those direct youtube videos posted here dont work so well.

    If you actually watched the video, its the pencil that doesn't look like a RSVP or a HGG.

    If you read the thread, you'll see that MSP's are rare... and the only two people I know that have some are FrozenIce, Kuma, and I. But that's because FI cleared the entire MSP stock of 23.

    If anyone is looking for a sub, I am not sure if it will work, but one of my class mates had a mechanical pencil that had a metal tip, an RSVP grip, and I bet it might work. I beleive it was called the Pentel Forte Pro II. If anyone has it, I am curious to see if it works or not.

    edit: oh and i just read the few past pages. everyone seems to be running out of MSP's.
    Well, today i went to eat at this Vietnamese restaurant. And right next to it there is a store. And i didn't know about TEK's MPMX yet. And i saw about....what...like 30 MSP's? So i bought three of them. I came back and I realized they were used for this mod. lol. The bad thing is that the store is like an hour away...and i'm not sure I'm going to go back there ever.

    So yes, in the end, I ended up making an MP MX (this method). It spins pretty well, better than a normal MX, but I still don't get why everyone likes it so much though. dunno.gif

    I mean, v3 came out and there's also the Supergrip/MP G2 way as well. dunno.gif

    And no, I am not up for trade. Sorry. sad.gif
