    Tip replacement...
The tip of the pen is so similar it fits on the HGG itself. The weight is like the same too cause I couldn't tell the difference when I switched the tip on my MX.

I can't tell the difference either...

Doesn't the Hybrid Gel Roller (HGR) have same tip as well??

  3. Trogz
    Date: Thu, Sep 20 2007 13:16:20

the new hgrs (with a grip) have different tip. the old ones (without a grip) have the same tip. but both of them will fit an mx although the new hgr tip is heavier making it feel like a signo tip mx.

on topic: i used one of those that i got at a Houston Texans game to make my first G2 gripped mx

    @boblaine:
    1. They look nothing like HGGs
    2. They dont have a long enough grip
    3. The tip is most likely plastic

    Not a substitute at all.

A good substitute tip is an Hybrid gel Grip DX. The only problem is, if you're making a MX, it doesn't screw on as well, so you have to tape it. huh.gif

well i used rose art michanical pencil grips and uni ball or g3 tips... for mxs!!! when i used to spin mxs! work like a bitch!!! trust me

and um glue the hybrid gel tip if u want it for an mx works much better than tape!

  16. Clam

Pentel forte mechanical pencil metal tip.

this will screw on to rsvp, no taping or gluing necessary

Is a Uniball Signo Micro any different from other Signo's?

    Will it fit the rsvp?

    Edit:

    I found some pictures.

In the grocery store I work at they have these pens

    http://www.uniball-na.com/main.taf?p=2,2,3

    Uniball Signo Micro.

The tip looks funny, it doesn't seem like it would fit the RSVP.

They do however have the Uniball Gel Impact

    http://www.uniball-na.com/main.taf?p=2,2,5

That one looks like the tip would fit.

Anyone used them? Will they both fit?

Because an HGG is longer than and RSVP grip.
It looks slightly odd.. you do have a slice in the grip, if you do it carefully you can make it look nice.

and how does a double-capped RSVP compare to an RSVP MX?

the grips of that pen may be too short, but if you get a g2 or anyball grip, you can use those grips + the tip of that pen to make an mx

a double capped rsvp will be heavier and more balanced than an mx, but won't look nearly as good wink.gif

@ulyx i don't think those will be that great of subs for hgg tips. I think it will be substantially heavier. if you want to put it on a mx just use a signo tip. Makes it more balanced and easier to get.

Yes, 1/2 a gram on the tip doess make a difference

Hmm, no HGG tip, and the grip isn't identical (not sure how stretchy or long it is...), the grip has 5 bumps in each line whereas a HGG grip has 4 o.o
Not sure if it's really worth it unless it's the same texture/size as the HGG grip and the tip can be used for something...
Only benefit is that it's easier to obtain i guess... but then again >>> trading XD

    Spoiler:

this is a new Hybrid Gel Roller, and has a heavier tip and a different tip. you can use it to sub for a HGG, but the grip might be too short (not sure) you should definitely get some of these though, they have great tips wink.gif it might actually make an mx very well balanced. oh ya and next time post in here when you have an HGG question http://www.upsb.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=858 instead of making a new topic wink.gif hope that helped

the grip is a little bit longer, and its always silver

They're called "Pilot BetterGrip", and the only real difference that I can see is this small line. I used it for my Comssa Metallic, and it screws onto RSVPs and Comssa caps perfectly. I'm not sure about weight, but they are sold at staples at $6.5 per dozen.

Found them for 1.40 or something like that at this one art supply store in New York, but they only had black.

    Pentel Energel...

Would the tip/grip work as a sub sub in anyway for an HGG, or will these not work?

No, those have a copper/plastic tip.
You have to have a Metal tip for it to be anything useful.
