Tough to know exactly which section this topic fits in... Anyhow...

There is a discussion in RD right now on 'definition of a pen' so I thought I would make this poll to see what UPSB members think is and is not a pen. Please vote!

Should a pen have to be able to write?
I made this a simple yes/no however you may want to reply if you think something else (for instance, could write if ink tube was not reversed or something like that).

    Length limit?

Should there be a limit on length? I'm assuming anyone who votes over 30cm is basically suggesting no limit. The poll stops a 19cm which is the standard length of a pencil (roughly).

    Weight limit?

I didn't give figures here (since I've not been sad enough to actually weigh a bunch of pens to get a good weight distribution) so it's just a yes/no. Again, you may want to post with thoughts on this.

Simple. A pen should be able to write. If not, it's just a stick. But length is varied from hand sizes. I have small hands, so an MX2 is prolly the biggest I should spin. But other than that, the pen size should be reasonable w/ your hand size. And weight limit can also go both ways. Heavy for practices. Lighter mods for filming.

A pen should be able to write, be light-weight and not too long. A pen mod...whatever you want.

Is a broken pen/out-of-ink a pen? Still is.
    Kinda like a brain-dead human.

Is the world largest pizza a pizza? Yes

Is the heaviest man a man? Yes

    There isnt a limit.

You man make a 1:200 scale pen that is out of ink. Still a pen write? Just can't use it.

a pen mod doesn't have to be able to write... some ballsigns cant write and they are still considered as a PEN mod

I dunno, i think if its a baseball bat, its not a pen... If its a shoe, its not a pen. If it is a cat with grips and ink sticking out of its ass and it has metal pen caps glued to its face, its still not a pen. There are some limits but i think you can usually tell if its a pen or not. I think it needs to be able to fit between two fingers and it needs to have at least partially been considered a writing utensil at some point in time. Anything with masking tape, or ducktape is not a pen.

If it can write, its a pen. Size doesn't matter nor does the weight. It only needs to be able to write with. huh.gif
