"I have +22 on [insert random national ps forum]"

IMO, it doesn't matter how much trades you have done within your country, you're still just as able to scam someone overseas, and if you don't have any international +s, how do we know you can handle trades like that? I think only international +s, thus the whitelist here on UPSB matters.

Although, I'm kinda losing confidence in it now since many +s appear to have been added by fellow countrymen with whom they have traded. Why not give UPSB a fresh start and reset the whitelist, and set as a rule that only international trades are allowed to be added to it?

    EDIT
: and reasons to why one wouldn't scam within ones own country but would do so when trading to other countries:

    • Everyone kinda knows everyone on national forums, people know who they can trust and who not. Even if people have loads of +s on national forums, if they are not well-known and have +s on UPSB you don't actually know how much you can trust them.
    • You'd be risking calls, visits and anthrax if you scammed someone within your countrie, telephonenumber is easy to find on the internet if you have a full name and adress. It's much harder to do things like this if you're in another country.
    • If you scam within your country, you'd probably be kicked out of the community for... good. With international trades you can scam under other names, etc.
One obvious example is Aval0nz, who scammed loads of people on UCPSB. He was French and said he had +13 on FPSB. That user was actually someone else though, if I remember correctly, he just pretended that was his FPSB account.

I think your idea is good BUT keep the old list as well. make a second, new list and insert there all the new trades. then when the new list grewed to a good size you can delete the old.

I also want that people who don't have + on UCPSB/UPSB send first. it's up to you if you trust the spinners or not...

btw if you made a new list you could insert the people whit 5+ because I think they're trustworthy.

    and here I've a contra:

also traders who had many + will have to send at the same time as the other spinners who didn't have +. so the risk for proofed traders to get scammed increases A LOT.

I like the part of your idea about listing the international trades but I think that it would be good to list both the local and international ones that way people in your local every can see your rating.

    Example:
    Local
    CPC +1

    International
    CPC +2

We could have like "The White List", then first have a resetted list where only international trades are accepted from now on, and below it a list with "National/local" +s, where we just link to the white lists on other boards. If you do a local trade, you can add it to the white list on your countries forum. If your country doesn't have a forum, we make a tiny white list for it in our white list here.

to be honest, I actually really like the idea. Keep just a seperate White List: National/International Whitelists. It'd just make more sense. That way, if you've done 20+trades from USA to Germany. You'd have the vantage over somebody who has a high number like 30 but only in Germany. and 3 International. I honestly think this should be taken into consideration. I've been ripped by a couple people from France who've had 18+ on the FPSB, and 5+UCPSB supposidly, Either way, it doesn't give specific, doesn't give a freeway to high numbers

Can we get any comment from almighty Mr. Z-bo or should I make a thread in the "Board suggestions" section?

Yo zombo, have you seen this?

If we make a new White list, then people should write from what and to what country too, and only count those who do so. To prevent people to forget about "International trades only"

I don't manage the white list, I think eburt does.

I'm not really a huge fan of this idea... I don't see why its necessary really. If someone says, "I have +X on board Y" then just ignore that. Say that if they don't have international trades, you don't trust them/want them to send first. Of course it is possible to have international trades on local forums, keep that in mind too.

I guess if you guys really want we could set up local and international whitelists and just have a link to the old UCPSB whitelist for reference...

I think we should just have a new international whitelist here, add everything that has been added to the current whitelist this far, and link to the UCPSB, FPSB, GPC, SwSp, ThaiSpinner & JEB whitelists (afaik, no koreans trade on this board).

I've got a problem with the whitelist itself. Why do y'all have to get all racial? Can't you call it something else? Same with the blacklist. I think there should just be one list for both, and a high + number is good while a high - number is bad. Then you can call it the Trading Reputation List and it'll be the end to all this dumbass white and black shit.

I've never thought about it that way, but when you phrase it so I can't but agree with you.

And I'm sorry, but Eburt, you say that we can change things if we really want to, but it's really you who need to change them. We can only ask you yo do so. How 'bout this:

    - I create a new whitelist, call it "Trading Reputation List" or something less racistic then white- and blacklist, and add all the +s that have been added on UPSB so far.
    - I add rules, saying that only international trades can be added from now on, and that you need to write between what countries the trades were made.
    - I add links to the other White Lists I know of.

This wat I could also help out with keeping track of the White List and stuffz (y)
