EDIT: OH! THAT last 10 post thing. If you have FF it should be a problem, just press back and re-read -

why the hell would you want to view the last 10 posts of the thread when posting?
you're supposed to have read the thread before clicking post reply. -

You need to check details you want to comment on.
-
Date: Sat, Sep 22 2007 18:46:05
you're supposed to quote it then, it's alrdy there.

I don't want my posts to be that mile-long, tbh. If now often have one window with my reply in, and another window with the thread in. Like here, it would've been pretty annoying if everyone had quoted intead of commented on eachothers posts.

If you are writing a long reply, you can view new replies that have come in by previewing your post. When the page refreshes with the preview post, the last few replies are also updated. You can then see if anything new has been posted while you were writing your reply and possibly add something else before actually posting your own reply. I do that quite often. -

If you're writing a long reply, you can simply write it, post it, and then you will be redirected to your post. If you then notice a reply has come in before yours, you can hit the 'edit' button. If you are struggling with quotes, you can hit the 'quote' button to quote from multiple posts. Why should we slow a slow server with something we don't really need?

this is only temporary, when we switch server, I'm gonna remove all the "cpu saving" features.
