I have had a RSVP CX for about 6 moths and it is rather old and dose have a few cracks in it, but it all depends on how you treat it

I've only ever broken one pen, and that was because I sat on it so that doesn't really give me a good idea. My oldest pens have been lost, but I think they would have lasted me a few years at least if otherwise. Both of them were comssas. I'm sure the body would last, but the grips would probably need to be replaced. Of course, this is my situation, I never spin over anything too hard e.g. concrete.

my oldest pen is a green mx that is like 3~5 years old. (i think) my friend gave it to me who started spinning the time when PDS + UPSB was being organized. or something like that. dont know for sure.

I would think that a mod made of the rsvp type plastic would have a shorter life than a mod with the comssa type plastic, just because its harder to crack and stuff. I think it also depends on what surface you spin over. I like to spin on my couch while watching tv so when I drop it, it falls on the couch and sometimes it falls on the carpet. I think this may lengthen a mods life a lil bit.

It depends entirely on how you treat it. In the house I was living in last year and the first half of this I did most of my spinning in the kitchen and umm, that had a very hard floor and used to destroy so many pens. Now I spin mostly either in the lounge, which has a wooden, slightly less hard floor and over my bed. Now instead of destroying a pen every week or two it's more like once a month.

comssas last for a really long time and they seem to absorb 'shock' well enough when the fall

I've had issues with grips drying out and cracking on me. Especially RSVP grips, they tend to get all chewy from being dropped and end up splitting. G2 grips end up getting really hard and if you leave them in the sun they dry out a lot and end up cracking and they start to flake off a bit.
maybe i should get a humidifier for my pens.....lol -

hey, try soaking your g2 grips in warm water for a while (20min) and see what happens.
Just wondering if it'll work, if it does you'll help people save a bit of money.
try it out please? -

most pens would probably last about 6 months
but theres no reason why you cant have one for years as long as you dont drop it etc or even simply get bored of it lol -

I've never thought of a pen as being a long term investment. lol. What is wrong with us? I think we are all obsessed and delusional.

I've had the same MX for 1.5+ years. Its the only pen I use. And the days I do spin, I'd drop it on concrete hard floors, desks, etc. Still spins great. I just buffed part of the back cap and now it looks great.

depends on how often and hard you drop it.
if it is not damaged, you can probably use a pen for several years -
