http://www.thaispinner.com/forum/index.php?topic=9240.0 > credit to my topic in THPSC -*-hahaha
Ok.
first
i come from THPSC [thaispinner]
i had though about this technique , isolation , for about a month.
i now think that "penspinning" is has been show to the world much more.
it not just "spin" for "spinner" to watch or "spin" for "spinnerselve"
But "penspinning" need to show to the Audiance.
So The "Isolation" technique is mostly common for the other "manipulation performance"
and i still confused that no one add this technique into Penspinning
so i start with the eazy one
Isolated Triangle Pass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4A55hOIwVxk
i think some of u might know already about isolation
but for some who never heard about it
;isolation is the technique for performance something as it float in the air or fix a spot ,which is on "CM"[centre of mass], as the center of it's spin
for example in the video i move the center of spin to the tip of the pen so i need to move my hand in stead of a pen is move around it's tip
this technique can be use with another trick up to ur imagine
and hope u all has a new thing to do,[not just cont. all the time or hybrid til the fingers die hahaha] -

Interesting concept. Not sure how to work with it though.
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 16:39:46
It's like contact, but with ps.
Now... you can do this effect with other tricks? I cant -
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 17:08:26
hmm. I thought they already had something like this before... I don't think it was called isolation...
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 17:16:43
excelent .
P'Mham 555+
I interest this concept.
It's will be chang the world of pen spinning. -
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 17:17:27
this technique
isolation i saw it in every manipulation like contact ball / contact staff / poi / swing club / juggling / cigar box / hoop etc.
and many of them are using of Isolation
so i think if we use this in penspinning may be it better to use as same as the other
ps. it's not trick for spinner to see but for spinner to show and for audience to see
ps2. i can say that i saw it because if u know some of thai spinner u may ask them "what did i had been play"
u may get the answer like " every thing" i'm sure -*- -

I think I've seen Bonkura do this with his FingerPass.
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 18:06:44
Pyralux does this in one of his videos with an infinity. I'll go get it later
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 18:16:01
Yeah, more examples would be nice as isolation doesn't seem that great right now.
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 18:25:44
no its awesome, ill get it when i get back from the gathering. see ya
-
Date: Sat, Aug 2 2008 19:11:23
You can also do this with Two-Finger Twirls moving the pen between fingers, it's the same idea as doing it with Fingerpasses, move the hand(s) up and down while keeping the pen in the same spot.
-

Also infinities.
-
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 01:32:22
Very interesting concept, I've seen this before, but isn't this just stylization?
-
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 01:52:02
^ thts what i was thinking, bonkura used to do this a lot
-
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 05:08:32
Don't this come naturally? Or like someone mentioned above, stylization.
-
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 07:59:19
Yes, it's a style of performing a trick. So? This could lead to some nice visuals if people concentrate on performing some tricks like this.
Odd example: Sonic Rise in one hand > Sonic Rise Rev in the other hand > Sonic Rise in same hand > Sonic Rise Rev in other hand, all while keeping the pen in the position and just moving the hands down & up. Maybe it would better doing it all palm-down, moving the hands left & right while keeping the pen stationary. -

yeah,
I work about isolation since 2 month now, and I do the concept with a lot of trick like the triangle pass, double charge, charge T1, wiper normal / reverse, and with some other tricks I don't remember the name xD
my videos :
wiper
triangle pass
double charge
charge T1
in a combo :
combo
I try now, to use isolation with the other charges (12, 23 etc ...) in palm down, with some pass (like neosonic rev cont ...) and also for change rotation sens. -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 12:20:18
looks quite cool actually ^^
the best I think was the triangle pass, all the other tricks looked a bit weird lol. -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 13:32:00
i like the wiper isolation, the other look weird, especially the double charge.
gotta learn that wiper one.. that's cool -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 14:06:27
Interesting. I've always been thinking of what it would look like if the world spun around our pens instead.
The wiper one was the most eye-catching... It could be used as the climax of a combo. -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 14:18:18
wow, this is actually an interesting concept, especially watching the videos that pyralux posted
the triangle pass looks the best
the wiper and t1 charge'll look the best in combos and adds a veryyy interesting effect to it
the double charge....it just looks..wierd =\
but yet another step in the world of penspinning huh? i wanna try this one day, thanks for sharing this concept ^^
i somewhat think that this effect/concept needs an official name =\ i dunno...maybe? -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 14:20:06
well, so far it's called "Isolation" and i think this makes actually sense:
The object becomes isolated and only the hand moves around -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 14:22:35
pyralux called it illusion... =\ both makes a bit of sense to me....
-
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 15:16:20
It's very interesting. I will try to do it with other trick
I think bakfall Isolation is cool!!
* sorry if I if my grammar is not correct. -
Date: Sun, Aug 3 2008 16:16:26
Wow, isolation can add a lot of style. Love how it slows things down.
-
Date: Mon, Aug 4 2008 17:11:07
I've wondered a lot why PS isnt more like contact juggling. I do a lot of wristarounds and slow fingerless moves to try and get that effect. I tend to spin like i'm using devil sticks. I think people get so caught up on doing really complicated tricks and combos that they overlook stylization.
I like doing thumbaround harmonics while moving my hand away when doing TA and towards myself for the reverse, it looks cool. -

I guess it just depends on what someone is going for or what inspires them. After watching a lot of freestyle skate slalom videos, I started wanting to spin with the pen making a lot of direction changes rather than trying to get a smooth, flowing look. After some time, it's become a mix of trying to keep moving the in a continuous path and successions of obvious direction changes.
Isolation, as a concept, seems like a good way to plan certain kinds of tricks together for visual effects. -

EDIT: how the hell did i not see pyralux's post -
Date: Sat, Aug 9 2008 07:44:09
^V^ as i said
Isolation is for audience to see
the spinner who do isolated will be very hard to know that " is it ok now??? "
but the person who watch him/her spinner can tell if it's ok and look nice!!!! -
Date: Sat, Aug 9 2008 08:44:13
this concept is really cool...
wiper is the most eyecatching
and i think the world of penspinning is really limitless -

I think it comes naturally. It's not much of a technique. Visually too, doesnt make much a diff.. -
Date: Tue, Aug 12 2008 18:19:08
we did discuss this in the past, not sure how we called it.
but we basically had the idea that the "hand is moving around the pen, not the other way around". -
Date: Wed, Aug 13 2008 18:08:53
Wow, this is really cool.
I think its very visually appealing which is whats most important if you are just presenting to people who don't pen spin. Those people don't always know if your trick is difficult or advance, all they notice is how good it looks. -

pyralux is great at it , i tried it in my video against andrew i did a isolation wiper thingie as first move but pyralux from fpsb is like uber with isolation so check him out -
Date: Mon, Aug 25 2008 09:25:56
I also tried it...
At the last gathering we tried a lot of new things just for fun...
As many wrote, it really doesn't look that good for them who makes it.
I was like doing the triangle pass isolated... And then someone said it looked awesome Oo...
I thought he was joking, but we tried recording it and it really didn't look too bad.
You have to try it an cam... Otherwise you can't tell if you're good at it or not.
^^
Keep Spinning -
