I've seen tut vids on these 2 tricks and i don't see any difference dry.gif just how are neo sonic (2-3 to thumb) different from Reverse Middlearound?
i also want to ask which 1 i am doing. my hand position is perpendicular to the ground, same as the spinning pen (clockwise, i'm righthanded). i start with either 12 or 23 and catch with T123 depending on how far it falls down before i catch it tongue.gif

    is confused `-`

Erm alright, reverse middlearnd is similar to neosonic but not the same. In neosonic, u catch the pen on the thumbflap but reverse middlearnd is catching the pen with the 23 slot.

just because i catch a certain trick in a slightly different position makes it a totally different catagory from the other? something seems off here dry.gif

It's another old name that still keeps going (wiki article talks about the name). If you want, just call it Middlearound Reverse 23-T1.

Wouldn't it be Middlearound 0.5 Reverse since it doesn't go around the middle finger completely?

Catching the pen in the thumbflap usually gets the pen to go between 0.75 and 1.0 rotation. If you start with the pen at or almost vertical, you can hit a full rotation easily enough. It all depends on how you perform it.
