Pen Modifications / HGG² SE?
-
Date: Wed, Aug 6 2008 14:35:06
I'm shopping around for a new mod and I think im pretty settled on the Hybrid HGG², but then i heard tell of the HGG² SE...
then i looked around for a while and the best i could find was some german wiki article. can someone help clarify what exactly the HGG² SE is and possibly link me to a tut?
Thanks -

The HGG² SE is a variation of the HGG² that needs less pens. You just need 1 HGG and 1 G2. I don't know if there is an english tutorial but here is a good tut in german with lots of pics. *Link* I might translate it if the pics are too unclear.

thanks a bunch! dont worry about translating, i have google translate for that =P
err right. the translations not too bad
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...sl=de&tl=en
i'll take a look at it after i buy myself a G2 and get my HGGs from china. so its just a simplified HGG²? it said something about not being good for momentum moves... what exactly are momentum moves? =S backarounds and bakfall are all i can think of really.
thanks a bunch. mind if i pm you later if i have questions about the translation? -

Momentum moves...these are probably all types of arounds. Because the HGG² and HGG² SE have a rather heavy body and not much weight at the ends, they are not the best pens for these tricks. However they are still a good choice if you have no access to RSVPs.
QUOTEmind if i pm you later if i have questions about the translation?
I don't mind -

haha.... funny cuz im in canada, so right now i've been spinning MX and random double-capped RSVPs. but i was looking for something more... exotic? so i came up with the HGG².
not good for arounds... wouldnt it be possible to add weights on either end of the pen? and the HGG² doesnt write right? thats unfortunate... i prefer pens that write =P i actually ended up modding my RSVP so that it would write.
i'll figure something out.
thanks again -

The HGG² and the HGG²-SE can still write - you just need to take the front cap off. If you don't like that, you can mod yourself a HGG²-SE and make it retractable with another tutorial on Sonarok's site.

would it be possible to use an RSVP ink tube (they're long and thin) in place of the G2? I never liked G2s anyways >_>
how are SEs for shadows? I'm still working on those =( -

The original HGG² uses a RSVP inktube. -

so I took a new look at the hybrid HGG² and I'm now trying to figure out how they cap/uncap to write.
Is the barrel thing with the conic section removable (that includes the HGG grip)? Because that's not too bad either.. or is it a screw-on kind of thing? -

The front-part of the G2 has the HGG-Grip over it and is just put on the rest of the pen. There's nothing glued or screwed on.
