Hi,
Welcome to my fifth tut. Now, I dun wish to get flamed like in my GHSA so i shall make things clear now. Ok, i noe this is pretty similar to a key3 mod but, it is made in a COMPLETELY different way, the parts are much easier to get and it is more heavier than a key3 mod. I heard that Zebra Tapliclips and G3 plastic tips are not so easy to find if u are not living in japan. So, does that make it a key3 mod sub? NO. I asked my friends if its worth to make a tut alrdy and they said, OMFG that is sexy!! Tut now!! So well i decided to post a tut since my friends told me it is sexy. Imo, I think that it is quite cool and sexy anyway. I would recommend this to psers who have short fingers. (I have short fingers. Ahahaha!)
Ok, specs:
Length: 18.5-19cm (depends on how far you put the cap in)
Weight: 14-15g
COG= slightly off center, towards the back.
Momentum: Depends. (If u insert a jimnie inktube into the G3 body, It sorta cuts the momentum it has, but i prefer it having no inktube as it is much more nicer to spin.)
Pens/Materials needed:
Pilot G3 (1) (Whole pen)
HGG (1) (Tip is needed only)
Signo DX or Signo Gel Grip (2) (Tips and grip are needed only)
Jimnie/Hyperjell (1) (Grip is needed only)
Scissors
Sandpaper/filer
White tape(optional)
Preparing the parts:
Top left: G3 cap
Top right and 2nd from top right: Jimnie grip. First, cut 1cm off the back of the jimnie grip, then take the 1cm part and cut it down to 0.8 cm so u will end up with 3 parts of the jimnie grip
2nd from top left: G3 body. Remove grip and file off the nubs. Also file off the bulge near the screw threads in front of the G3.
3rd from top right: HGG tip.
3rd from top left: Signo DX/Signo Gel Grip Grip.
Bottom right: Signo tip.
Bottom left: Signo tip on top of G3 tip. Tape them together tightly and try not to tape more than 1 layer or else putting on the signo grip later will be hard.
Assembly:
Video should be easy to follow. If u are wondering y is my jimnie grip on the front white, the answer is that I taped it with white tape.
According to video:
Assembly of the body:
1) OPTIONAL: Take the 0.8cm portion of the jimnie grip and tape it with white tape. (0:00 - 0:38)
2) Put the 0.8cm portion of the jimnie grip onto the front of the G3 body. (0:39 - 1:17)
3) Screw on the G3 tip that is taped together with the Signo tip onto the G3 body. (1:18 - 1:39)
4) Put on the Signo grip on to the front of the G3 body. (1:40 - 2:06)
Assembly of the cap:
1) Put the HGG tip into the G3 cap. (2:10 - 2:17)
2) Take the longest part of the Jimnie/Hyperjell grip (Top right on pic) and put it into the G3 cap. (2:18 - 2:34)
3) Take the 0.2cm portion of the Jimnie/Hyperjell grip and put it into the G3 cap too. (2:35 - 2:40)
4) Take the Signo tip and put it into the cap. Make sure it is held tightly in the G3 cap by the 0.2cm portion of Jimnie/Hyperjell grip. (2:40 - 2:54)
Attach the cap onto the body and, SPIN AWAY!!! U have finally done my G3 mod!!
How to make it writable- Take the Jimnie/Hyperjell inktube and cut it so that it fits in the G3 body. Plz try not to use G3 inktube as it is very prone to leak.
Advantages-
Very nice momentum
Sexy and cool
Heavy
Can be writable
Silent when spun
Disadvantages-
Uses 5 pens
Slightly unbalanced, about 0.1cm off COG towards the back.
Short
Poor weight distrubution -

i dont see how this is similar to a key3 mod at all. key3 mod use 3 tips in the front, hgg plastic g3 and then signo, and a hyper jell cap in the back, not a g3. i thnikk a key3 mod is just a bit longer than this too. anyhow nice mod, but the vid tut can be more clear, like add subs of what youre doing

agreed
This is way heavier than a key3 mod and the original key3 mod is about 20cm.
This isnt really a sub but its a nice mod anyways.
Btw, plastic tipped g3s are being sold on Penwish again

Lol. I just wanna make things clear be4 sumone (Gunbl****s) comes critising and flaming me again. And also if u really want me to redo the assembly video then fine. I will find some time and make the video. -

It can't be helped if people take positive criticism to heart.
Anyway, as what other people have mentioned before, it is not very similar to the key3 mod, IMO it is like a G3 MX with added tips infront. And I dont think the tape(?) at the back of the barrel will hold up to repeated taking "on-and-off" of the pen cap.
I think the momentum/spinning effect will be similar to that of a signo-tipped mx, which some might prefer.
Also, you might want to be more objective in listing the advantages.
Good effort in writing the tutorial.

Lol... Hey why did u double post... Btw, i think its really different from a g3 mx as in the cap, there is a hgg tip and jimnie grip and signo tip compared to g3 mx with only has a hgg grip and anyball grip on it. And also, the front is made using other grips... And also, for the taking on and off thing isnt really recommended as i noe that the tape wouldnt be able to hold all of that up. It is non-writable unless u want to put kimnie inktube inside to enable it to write, so I dun see the point y ppl would want to take the cap on and off so the tape thing isnt really a problem.

yeah but its super heavy, almost like an ayatori mod heavy but shortened. and sorry if i offeded you about the video, its just that i couldnt really tell what you were doing sometimes -

I just made one.
And wow.
I really like it. Its pretty heavy, but very well balanced. It spins similarly to a GJH, and I like how the fron look alot like a Key3 Mod but uses the metal tipped G3s. -

Lol making it retractable is impossible since there is 2 metal tips in front...
Btw, Outlander, can u help me find out wats the weight of the pen? I dun have any weighing scales at my house and i hadnt had the chance to go to the physics lab to use the electronic weighing scales there.... -

jkjk. u have to either rub it off with eraser, use some special cleaning liquid (that i use) or just spin until it fades! -
