Hello. I was wondering if anyone can help me learn Weis Backaround into FL Thumbaround Rev. I heard it somewhat like doing a continuous backaround but just around the thumb (idk who said it.) When I try to get into the FL thumbaround the pen bounces or it pops up. I start off with the Weis backaround then after the one rotation I twist my wrist to the right (I'm right handed) like I'm going to give thumbsup and that is as far as I get. The pen doesn't go around the thumb it just slides off. If anyone has a vid or can explain it to me I will appreciate it greatly.

Ok..this is like my attempt at Zombo combo looks different but still the same...

Are you sure you dont mean bak -> FL TA rev?

    Eso's tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ddv7ZVd6HI

....doing it from a weisen bak might make the combo a little harder since you have less momentum for the pen but its possible. Just takes practice.

Ok I named it wrong it is FL TA rev sorry about that. I still want to learn how to do it using the Weis backaround. I will look into the Korean Backaround into FLTA Rev. Thank you for posting the link to the video.

If you can get the Backaround to end right on the side of the Index finger, you will be in a better position to simply hook the pen with your Thumb for the FL TA Rev.

I would say that having a very good Fingerless Thumbaround Reverse would be essential. That way, you can worry more about finishing the Backaround correctly and be able to hook the pen even if it does not go where you planned.

hmm just think of it as one trick instead of two seperate, think of it as the momentum from the backaround transfered into the thumb, you don't need to move your wrist really. only thumb will suffice.

I like to do it while "dislocating" the thumb out.

I think my tutorial can point you in the right direction, since you're looking to do the Weis BA > FL TA Rev. In addition to what Zombo said, think of the first BA as never stopping. In order to get the pen around the thumb, you might have to move the thumb more, but do not exaggerate the movement.

The next time you do this, see where exactly the pen falls, and try to force your thumb to be in that place where it ought to be in that exact timing.

Thank you for all the replies.

I've been taking Eso idea on following the pen and see where it lands. This really is helping a lot as well as seeing it as one trick instead of two by Zombo. Sketching video was great got to see it done and see if I am on the right track. I will post a video during the week if I'm able to land it. I wanted to know should I move my thumb accordingly to the pen trajectory as well as move my wrist slightly? I'm trying to do both but not moving my wrist violently. Eso your vid of the Korean Back > FL TA Rev was great. I will work on that once I can land this one. Also, how for back is the pen during a Weis Backaround? Mine is right in front of my index knuckle. I seem to be getting better with it so more practice should get me some good results really soon happy.gif . K4S link to Eso Korean Backaround > FL TA Rev is great. It gave me ideas on the thumb movement.

They say that when you do the Weis BA, it should be spinning on the back of your hand, behind the index's knuckle. The way I do mine is that it spins on top or in front of the first knuckle.
If you watch Zombo's combo in UPSB+PDS (Part 2), his is spinning directly on top of the first knuckle, rather than behind it. HAHA!

The pen should touch the back of the hand but is generally accepted with moving over the base knuckle. I tend to get it over the base knuckle a lot more than actually touching the back of the hand in normal combos. sad.gif

Just made a video how i do it, i used 3 connected highlighters to make the movement as slow as possible. That's only how i do this trick, it can be done differently i guess.
