They are two completely different games. In the original you have to fill a line horizontally to clear it. Tetris 2 makes you match colors. -

Ugh. You're right. I didn't know that until I just tried it out now. The instructions should include spacebar as part of the controls.
But that version of Tetris' speed option moves pretty fast. Added to the fact you can get an unlimited score (at least much, much higher than the 8Kish score in Tetris 2) and there's no undefeatable levels, you got a much better version of Tetris. I'm not saying Tetris 2 should be replaced, but this arcade really needs Neave's version of Tetris. It's just too good to pass. -

uhh actually its better that you can't get unlimited score, because it forces you to maximize the number of tetris you make instead of being satisfied with single.double.triples

No, it isn't. As these forums get older, more people will join and more people will play this Tetris 2. Eventually, it will get to the point where the only scores allowed are maximum scores. Plus, contrary to popular belief, the skill in Tetris is not maximizing the amount of "Tetris", but knowing when to back off and settled for a triple, double, or a single until you've reached a more optimal positioning. Any primate can line up blocks so that only a 4 piece can fit, but few know how to keep the stack from growing too high while still achieving tetris'.
I'm not pushing this Neave Tetris because I'm bad at Tetris 2; in fact, I'm the new champion for Tetris 2. I simply believe that Neave Tetris is a far, far better version of Tetris for the masses. Just try it out. What have you got to lose for putting it in the arcade? -

well yea, there are times where you have to settle for smaller to get better position, but you still need to maximimze tetris if you want best score!!

So what's wrong with using Neave Tetris? People who don't utilize Tetris aren't going to get high scores and will only be shooting themselves in the foot. I still don't understand what's wrong with having Neave Tetris in the arcade. >.>
