Every time I go into a video tutorial most people are wearing wristbands. I'm new to pen spinning and I was wondering if they're for a special reason or it's just a coincidence. thnx ahead of time
-

Well, it doesn't help at all.
They might wore it for comfort, If you buy Spinz they give you a wristband. -
Date: Sat, Oct 11 2008 00:45:51
well some may wear to avoid getting hurt from kt stabs but mostly it looks cool. like that little rubber band spinz gives you isnt gonna do much....
-

When you're having a particulary intense pen spinning session it helps get all the sweat.

A wrist band wont help from KT stabs. and hes probally talking about the wristbands you get in the Axis box.QUOTE (shoeman6 @ Oct 11 2008, 09:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>When you're having a particulary intense pen spinning session it helps get all the sweat.
Yea, cause you definetly sweat while your spinning? -
Date: Sat, Oct 11 2008 14:48:38
Intense spinning ;D thar isnt any other reasonable reason...
-

I dont think i agree with you that much...People dont wear it cuz of sweat...i guess to look cool but not cuz of sweat.. -
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 16:37:35
Yeah.. i mean.. eriror wears his wristband and it looks good on him and I guess maybe it's just cool cause you can "decorate" your hands a bit but since it'll affect your spinning, a wristband is probably the best option to spice up that combo.
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 16:37:37
- _ -... well some people wear it for sweat, who wants a wet wrist?
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 18:48:04
sweatbands, like the ones in the spinz axis box
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 19:20:47
Everyone knows putting racing stripes on your car adds 20+HP...same principle with pen spinning. Putting on a wristband makes you a better pen spinner; the cooler your wristband, the better you'll spin.
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 19:28:50
and itll clean up the sweat - _ -
-

If you "sweat" from pen spinning you either have hyperhidrosis or you are incredibly unfit and should go out and get some exercise
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 20:08:06
.......... @ K4S
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 20:09:26
what if your hands sweat when your modding?
-
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 20:09:36
Unless you do what TEK did in the odd location collab
Run on a treadmill while spinning
EDIT: What if you were filming your first combo for a collab or tourney and you were really nervous? O_o You're nervous, tense, camera shy, and horrible at ps. I think it would be understandable if you sweat under those conditions.....however, I doubt your HANDS will be sweating. -
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 20:48:48
Well, your hands might be sweating, but the wristband won't help with that. This is just stupid, all the "use them 'cause of sweating" (shoeman6).
-

what do you use wrist bands for then hmm?..... -

Cuff long sleeves
Fasion
Wiping the sweat on your forehead
Identification purposes
Any more questions? -
Date: Sun, Oct 12 2008 21:24:18
And what are you going to sue to wipe off the sweat on your wrist? - _ - > _

Spinning pens is good exercise, that why all good gyms have them -

really?
can you tell me where they are?
cough cough
btw, you can read what i wrote in the white space by highlighting it -

So the sweat from your palms rolls down to your wrist?
When your palm sweats from being camera shy, i don't think you bend your hand all the way so you can wipe your palm on your wristbands.. nor do we wear a wristband on ouy other hand so we can wipe our palms on the other wrist cause that's not what this thread is about.
Its just for visual appeal. -
Date: Tue, Oct 14 2008 02:10:03
I understand sweaty palms from being camera shy..but how can a wristband help?
-
Date: Tue, Oct 14 2008 02:40:58
umm if you're cold it keeps your hand a little warmer? = |
-
Date: Tue, Oct 14 2008 03:50:00
lol These responses get stupider and stupider..
I agree with Glamouraz.
People don't wear wristbands for sweating, what the fuck? They wear it for the looks. -
Date: Wed, Oct 15 2008 04:20:40
the wristbands have nothing to do with penspinning. You see them because people who normally where wristbands do just that. So, when they're are filming a combo, what do you know? they have a wristband on.
Then of course you have the people who wear them now because they've seen other people wear them in spinning videos and want to copy that.
And you have a few people who have a special wristband like a PDS or FPSB wristband and they want to show it off. -
Date: Wed, Oct 15 2008 16:59:30
If I had an FPSB wristband, I would show it off.
-
Date: Fri, Oct 17 2008 06:33:30
Wouldn't we all?
But since boys don't paint our nails like girls do (except Aries), we find outher things to dress our hands and wristbands look masculine.. -
Date: Mon, Nov 24 2008 05:09:29
i practice about 24/7 and i have noticed that while i am walking down the street (spinning) my wrist/hands get sweaty DX so i agree with that guy, its for soak up XP
-
Date: Mon, Nov 24 2008 06:13:41
just for looks imo.
but i would def show off if i have a KPSA/JEB wristband -
Date: Mon, Nov 24 2008 06:53:55
yeah they look epic. eriror with wrist badn yes!
-
Date: Wed, Nov 26 2008 22:14:39
I think wristband can make your pen spinning more beautiful
-
Date: Wed, Nov 26 2008 22:41:16
Rubber bands>wristband. You can use the rubber bands to help mod. Wristbands are only for show. I used to wear one until I found out how stupid it was.

its just for confidence i think -

My guess is that the wristband gives support to your wrist.
-
Date: Fri, Dec 19 2008 20:14:29
Every wristband gives you 2+for smoothness and 1 + for koolness, didn't you know that ?
Same If you have a good watch, or SteandUpSpeakUp band ( liek dat - http://www.acasports.co.uk/images/products...llerIDBands.jpg ) or a bracelet, even a gold ring... -
Date: Sat, Dec 20 2008 05:48:26
So basically what most people are saying is that they are for looks. I mean I am a right handed spinner and I regularly wear my watch on my left wrist but i just might change it to my right wrist when i make spinning vids cus its a kewl watch. (its a nixon)
-
Date: Sun, Dec 21 2008 00:28:07
If u get a relay for life rainbow one, its +9 kool
btw, why the hell is this in hand care -
Date: Tue, Dec 23 2008 20:48:23
just got my PPP wristband, and ofc ill spin with it on my hand(acctually wrist)^^.
Imo it looks cool, and un-usual. -
Date: Tue, Dec 23 2008 20:56:52
I think that a good wristband with matched colours with pen makes combo more beautiful. But it don't affect the spinning itself
-
Date: Wed, Jan 14 2009 22:57:32
So to sum it all up wristbands might give you a little bit of support for your wrist but everything is just for show. thats is basically all that this is about

i think is only 4 better apparence -

i wear my hot topic stud bracelet when i spin O.o
-
Date: Fri, Jan 30 2009 09:53:31
Eriror wears a wristband when he spins.
-
Date: Sat, Mar 7 2009 07:36:51
i myself wear a wristband(sometimes studs..)
but i have to agree it dosent help .. i just wear it coz i want it..
for me it gives off confidence..coz when i wear it while on cam.. it reminds me that people will recognize me by my hand while spinning with a wristband..(well in our school.. they recognize me with that.. even if my face is covered.. )
well more like the signature things you show off so that people can recognize you.. -
Date: Fri, Mar 13 2009 02:53:17
I wear my Spinz wrist band. I wouldn't say that it helps my pen spinning but rather sets me apart others that only have a hand. I would also say that the band makes you look a little more "professional" which is a plus
-
Date: Fri, Mar 13 2009 06:12:40
It is just for style and show off. No other reason. Or they want to look like Eriror....
-
Date: Fri, Mar 27 2009 10:25:37
1 more guess..
It makes them more confident because eriror does use wristbands.
they go like IM ERIROR AND I AM THE BEST!.
1 more
wrist stalls? -
Date: Fri, Mar 27 2009 15:18:52
Naaa, most of them wear wristbands cuz it's cool.
-
Date: Mon, Mar 30 2009 13:50:38
Reason 1 # It Is To Look Cool
Reason 2 # It Is To Prevent Dr kt Or Other Sharp Objects To Slit The User's Wrist While He Is Spinning.
i tink.. -
Date: Sun, May 10 2009 14:34:10
Black wristbands(like Eriror's) look really good with his spinning style. But I don't think Spinnerpeem looks nice busting with a wristband...
-

I only wear wristbands because they were presents for me, and I really like the look of them. I usually even spin worse with certain wristbands because it's too tight around the wrist [like PDS or SpinZ], cutting off nerves or something. Not sure. Just doesn't feel right.
-

I really mate a cut on the wrist while doing a crazy charge with a waterfall. The pen slipped and made an ugly cut.. The wristband could help on that. But people wear it the molst because it looks cool. It's the same thing of guitar players and drum players.. And on drum players, I can tell by my own experience, it even makes it hard, because the wrist has to move freely and the wristband kind of makes it stuck...
-
Date: Thu, Feb 4 2010 14:19:02
i wear a combination of wristbands as a signature...
-
Date: Fri, Feb 5 2010 02:48:19
harder to do wrist tricks with wristbands.
-
Date: Fri, Apr 9 2010 19:17:06
wrist bandes are like a.... custom and ritual....they might not help but they are pretty cool
