Hand Care / Badly cut nails

    I suck at cutting my nails nicely and now I feel like I've messed up badly. The white part is now growing out of the sides. Is there anything I can do to "restore" it to it's "proper" or a better state?

    There really isn't much you can do, except try to cut them better next time. If you don't feel you're good enough at cutting, get a file. Never cut/file your nails while they're wet, it can make them crack. Most importantly, go slowly!

    It makes them softer. Its when I cut my nails and I havent had them crack yet... *Knocks on wood.* As a matter of fact, I just cut them like 30 minutes ago.

    When you cut them dry, it's easy to notice the cracks early and fix them, when your hands are wet, you can't really see the cracks until you're done.

    u can go to a nail salon for ur nails.. my mom does nails and she saids that a lot of people come because of that problem

    Wouldn't that be slightly embarrassing? wink.gif

    Anyway, I'm not trying to scare you but my mum always said that if you cut your nails too deep around the corners too often, there'll be a time when your nails will poke through your skin/flesh out of your fingers... and she said that once that happens, you needa' go to hospital to cut the nails...



    My uncle has that problem on his toe.. not fingers. And he goes to hospital for his nails cut.

    I think that is called an ingrown nail. I've heard that it hurts really badly.
