I suffer from cold/inflexible heads every morning. This is somewhat related to warm ups...but how do you guys get rid abnormally cold hands and/or inflexibility caused by coldness?

That happened to me this morning, the weather was crazy Dx I couldn't spin, I tried to do fingerpasses, but they were awfully slower because my hand was to cold and it was twitching. I just sticked my hands in my pocket until it was warm... but it was freezing outside so that didn't help. lol, but I still could spin in the nice warm classroom happy.gif

When sitting at the computer for a longer time, spinning while doing so, I often get the feeling that the blood is kind of running out of my hand and cooling down. It's mostly annoying when being outside at fall/winter-times, trying to spin dry.gif I haven't found anything that really helps yet.

I get cold hands a lot in the office since it's so bloody cold. I either wash my hands in hot water and then put lotion on, or I just put on lotion and put my hands in my pockets and take a small nap. It warms up very quickly.

That's what I also do often =D But washing hands also dries them out afaik, so that's not good :( Maybe just without soap, should do the job.

it's freezing around here this morning (here being new york)
i can barely spin my rushon....sad.gif
could do with these tips lol. thanks!

    i actually also do this:
stick your hands under your knee cap (like the backside of your leg)
then squish your hand there. keep it there for a few minutes and it feels warmer.

I have a couple exercises that take only 5 minutes at max so listen up to get cold hands out of pen spinning life!!!!

When you first wake up you feel dizzy and you hands feel cold and you lack the energy to do things until late morning or early afternoon right?
So, when you first wake up ask you self a few simple questions to get your brain to function well. The questions should be simple like what is my name? Whats my address? Who's my first period teacher? Whats my school called? Whats 2+2? Once you get your brain warmed up then crack your knuckles if you know how to. then pull each finger back as far as possible to strech them for flexibility. Next put your hands in HOT water until you feel your hands loosen. This helps relieve tension from you night hands from sleeping. Now what? Your ready to spin!!! GASP!!!! ohmy.gif

This gets me every school morning. Man I hate it. The only real problem is that it completely destroys my fingerpass, otherwise I get around it.

I have very cold hands no matter what the season is; even at summer my hands are frozen unless I do something special with them.
The general method I use is to simply get warm/hot (body temperaute-wise). Once that has been done, the hands just kinda warm up on their own.
Here are some things I've found helpful:

    - tea
    - warm clothes and socks (like scarves, sweaters, woolly socks, hats) on for a while just to get the body temperature high
    - excersising for a while. Jumping, push-ups, L-seat, anything you like doing.
    - stretching (really). Some stretches are very energy consuming, and usually get the body temperature up quickly. I've also found that the stretches that have the head facing down make me sweat more easily smile.gif

You'll eventually find the routine that works the best for you. I hope some of this helps. happy.gif

First off... warmer blankets/sleep with your hands under the sheets maybe.

Personally as a warm up I like therapy balls, gets the joins ready and limbered up a little.

One 'exercise' I can suggest is make sure your hands are lose and swing your arms around. Up and down works fine, just start with your hand above your head quickly swing your arm with your elbow straight downward. Make sure not to flick your wrist to hard at the end as that can be bad for you. But what this does is it will force more blood into your fingertips and increase circulation, it's best if your torso is warm but just your hards are cold.

Another thing is any full body exercise if you have the space. Jumping jacks, push ups, whatever you like. This will raise your body temp as well as increase your heart rate giving you better circulation.

Uhm... actually only to warm up your hands under your scrotch or your kneecap, you will get cold after awhile anyway ^^

The way to get warmer hands is to do hard fingerexersises, the blood will come from your arm down to your hands more easies and you will have more warmer hands =)

Exersise 1.) - Take your both hands and press your fingers into your palm very hard in like 5/6 seconds, then your shoot your fingers straight out very hard in 5/6 seconds. And do that round 5 times, until you feel your hands warmer.

And here you can watch Greg Irwin's fingerexersises/warm ups! =)

    http://www.handhealth.com/ffwarmups.asp

Do all this a few times until you feel warmer and more flexible, I promise.. it'll helps ^^

    Goodluck!

If you think your fingers aren't going to be flexible when you wake up, just stick all your pens on a reaaal high shelg so in the morning when you go to pick them up you gotta stretch your fingers, lol.

My job is at fred meyer. I push carts back into the building.
this makes my hands stuck in a position and very cold, even with gloves sometimes.
so if I go in the breakroom and want to spin I stick my hands under hot water.

sitting on your hands and stuff like that wont help much it will only warm up your hands temperrarly the best thing to do if you have cold hands is make your blood move faster throu your body and the best way to do that is to exercise just a few pushups every morning and after a while you should be good...... happy.gif

learn how to channel chi. There is a basic move where you stick both arms out( make sure that they are strait) and then flip on palm down and the other up. Then press you fingers together to make a tight fist. Make sure your arms are still strait and do this for about ten times, then switch. Your hands should be warmer now. Hope this helps! smile.gif

The only thing you really have to do is wait a few hours until your hands become more flexible and then you can start spinning.

Maybe it helps hold your hands under warm water but i think it not necessary. and who wakes up with cold hands really needs to
turn up the heater or to close the windows so that his hands aint cold anymore.

if i need to do a combo but my hands are cold i put my hand under hot water for a few seconds, sometimes it burns but no pain no gain. that usually gives me like 10 to 15 min of good warmed up hands. but in the long run there isnt anything better than sitting on your hands or finger exercises.

I guess I'm the only weird guy who likes to spin with semi-cold hands ;>_>
If my hands are too warm I tend to spin more sloppy, and my spinning looks a bit ugly (IMO anyway)
Whenever I film I always let my hands cool down a bit...
