carpal tunnel syndrome = a painful condition of the hand and fingers caused by compression of a major nerve where it passes over the carpal bones through a passage at the front of the wrist, alongside the flexor tendons of the hand. It may be caused by repetitive movements over a long period, or by fluid retention, and is characterized by sensations of tingling, numbness, or burning.

I get scared I might have carpal tunnel...
Question= How many hours do you spin..
I spin like whole day and i MIGHT get this sickness...

I spin almost every waking moment. When my I get wrist pain(I rarely get wrist pain) I just stop spinning for a few hours. Just don't spin really heavy mods, you should be fine. I'd also suggest stretching your fingers pretty often.

Uhm.. is this the same as RSI ?? Repeated Strained Injury ??

Oh and I heard that if you are a left hander and you use right hander scissors, there is a chance of developing RSI. Don't ask me why. Yes, I'm a left hander and yes I use right handed scissors. tongue.gif Can't find left-hander scissors ANYWHERE. dry.gif

I never had it. My spinning doesn't really affect my hand. Like... I never had it.

Meh. I've been practicing my normal Fingerpass several hours a day for 20 days straight and nothing's happened. You're fine as long as you're young.

it has more to do with your wrist
i think it usually occurs when you use the computer for a long time
    w/o moving alot
like when you use the mouse in the same position for hours and hours

for psing, its not really a problem
unless you spin a uber heavy pen for a long time
i dont think dr kt is really a problem
ppl have been spinning that for a while now
and you just get used to it... for better or worse
and you should still be careful cuz being young doesnt solve everything

There are some exercises you guys should do everyday to avoid that. Magicians do them too, either for tricks or just flourishes. I'll try to get them.

I think you should be fine, carpal tunnel is typically caused through the same motion repeated over and over again. If your wrist starts to hurt, then just stop for a little while

....a guy in the shoutbox asked me about this....i forgot his name....

carpal tunnel, as I know, has something to do with the median nerve, a nrve that connects our wrist to the hand....when it is twisted or squeezed in aany reason, it may cause into carpal tunnel syndrome.
