Cold vs. Hot

    I'm just wondering: Is it just me, or is it way easier to spin after washing your hands with cold water as apposed to washing your hands with warm/hot water? For some reason I find that the pen always slips out of my hand much more after I wash my hands with warm/hot water.

    Ugh, for me i spin better when i wash my hands with any water. Plus putting chapstick in between your fingers is best

    Interesting! Didn't know that washing of hands with different kind of water affects pen spinning.
    I only know that lotion affects the gripping of your pen so far.

    Cold water dries you hands out more and closes the pores in your hands.

    Hot water opens your pores and makes you hand clammy and sticky.

    Personally I was my hands as little as possible when I don't need to because I get very dry hands/skin. I also avoid soap the majority of the time. God gave ya an immune system for a reason.

    I find washing my hands in lukewarm water is best, but barring that, just running them under cold water and drying them well seems to work too. I also like it when my hands are just a little clammy because it gives me good grip. Lately I seem to have bad friction and it sucks.

    Avoiding dryness in my skin is my main motivation for doing anything as far as washing or lotion.
    Gotta have some sort of grip with my hands, or my spinning goes to hell.

    I find it works well to just spit all over your fingers and wipe it off... but that's just me.
    Learned that from rolling up j... umm... cigarettes when my fingers would slip.

    Yeah, I mean I'm not washing my hands every time I spin to make my spinning better laugh.gif. I always feel washing hands at all makes it worse; I just mean whenever I end up washing my hands for whatever reason, I normally end up psing afterwards anyway.

    washing your hands usually only works if you use a little bit of water (hence not really "washing them ) and I only like that grippiness on bare plastic like rsvp mx..

    I full out wash, like as in using Soap. i fell that if my hands are dirty, my tricks are off.

    I don't like washing my hands. When I wash it, hands are very dry and pen slide from my fingers.

    i find it the other way around.

    When i wash with cold my hand becomes stiff and the pen sticks easily to my fingers

    When i wash with hot my hand becomes smooth and it's easier to spin

    Also washing with warm water is healthier for your hands in general smile.gif

    I find this works for me as well. Especialy if one is outside in very cold weather for an extended period of time.

    I like warm water the best just because cold water makes my hands feel clamy while warm water makes them feel warmed up and smoother.

    yeah, mostly 'ere in Minnesota we have cold weather, i've only been spinning since september so i don't know what spinning in warm weather is like.

    It might be different then...

    haha. I find that just washing hand with hand soap before spinning makes it easier for me to do infinity-based tricks on the grips of my pens. tongue.gif

    I tried doing infinities after washing my hand and without grips... the pen flew across the room and hit my mom mellow.gif

    I think no water would be better for me wink.gif

    it kinda works like this
    hands kinda wet -> grippy
    hands dirty -> grippy
    hands clean -> smooth

    the truth is i think its better having it smooth because if its not it limits your speed and smoothness

    i not really like washed hands for spinning, all the oil from your hand is virtually gone, giving you no grip

    i didn't know why everytime i wash my hand under the tap water,and when i dry them up..i went back to pen spinning and when i tried to combo,the pen always stick onto my hand!! zzz...so i dont think washing hands is a good idea

    only wash my hand when when they are tooooo sticky

    and never add chemicals to my hands to improve spinning

    I wash my hands often to keep oils from accumulating too much on my hands. The oils make it difficult to spin, and also can compromise some parts of the pen, specifically the grips.

    I always use warm water, but the key is to use a soap with moisturizer so as not to make your hands too dry. Then, I always make sure not to rub too aggressively while drying my hands, because that can mess up the skin. Afterwards, I wait a few moments for all the moistness to evaporate from my hands, and then my hands are in perfect condition for spinning, health, and life in general.

    If you have issues with pens slipping around due to dry hands, i really highly reccomend trying out the BICtory SF mod that i wrote. This pen is great for this. It has a soft feel tube that grips your hands but doesnt cause so much friction that it is difficult to spin, infact i think it makes spinning a lot easier. This is the only pen that i have found to be perfect in size and weight for me.

    Its great for infinities, shadows, thumbspins, fingerless tricks have never been easier. I highly reccomend it. I still havent gotten a response from anyone that has actually tried it out. Give it a whirl!

    hot water helps but you have to dry ur whole hand off. spit sounds gross but if you like your hand you have a better grip. cold water just makes my hand all slippery

    Since my basement is so cold if you spend a lot of time down there than your hands will be cold. So washing with some lukewarm water is better as it balances it out. Washing it with some lukewarm water without soap for a quick few seconds does the trick for me.
